Sugar Hill has a laid back retro 70’s vibe that is inviting and unique in the Portland East side metro area. There are creative cocktail and lite bite food options to enjoy while hanging out solo or with a group. There is a large indoor and covered outdoor space that will accommodate any size group. There is an area adjoining the main bar that can be reserved for special occasions as well. The decor and soundtrack all invites one to keep on truckin’ and vibe at this groovy hip pad, all while you shake your groove thang, you dig baby? Solid.✊

Went here to celebrate with friends & wow I was impressed! The chicken “nuggets” are incredible, a must try! They’re nothing like McDonalds or normal bar food, they’re real & shaped unevenly. Yummy trays of sauces come with it too!

Once you enter, the vibe is small, crowded vintage. But they have several doors leading to bigger & more open spaces, actually surprised how big the place was once you leave the main room!

Line goes by very fast, I went on a Saturday night. Yummy cocktails, the spicy tamarind lemon drop was amazing! Not much spice but taste wise it was good. Definitely recommend if you want a chill place to hang with friends & some actual good bar food! Bartenders were nice as well

Sugar Hill is the secret sugar of Portland. Located in the Laurenhurst district.

Tuesday’s Happy Hour, called the “Pre Inflation,” is a must. 1 dollar oysters. $3 cheeseburgers. $3 fries, $3 ice cold Miller High Life, and $3 tequila shots.

It has a perfect Vibe too. He has a perfect playlist of the 1990s.

The atmosphere is one of couples and people enjoying a simple Tuesday life. As the sun goes down, the palm tree lights up the room.I arrived way to early thinking there would be a line for this deal and was across the street at

The service is where it is at. Jordan and Quinn are on point. Jordan makes sure everything comes out on point. Oysters for $1.00 are fresh. When asked for some horseradish sauces, top-shelf Beavers CHILLED came out.

I highly recommend it. Tuesdays are when the action is. I never made it to the speakeasy or outside part, as I feel they are separate reviews that I will do in the future.

Highly recommended.

Great little Eastside chill vibe. It’s an Eastside ultra lounge. A place to hang out, eat, grab some drinks, chill and listen to some DJ’s. You can get up and dance anywhere there’s floor space if you want. Great vibe.

Tried the artichoke dip and fries – so good! The dip comes with grilled garlic toast and it was soft enough it didn’t hurt your teeth but hard enough to make an effective scoop.
I had the pineapple mojito. It was so good I got a second, when I normally try different drinks.
The bar is super cool looking.
Service was fast and friendly.
We went in late on Sunday night.
It wasn’t busy, but not empty either.
Nice background music; wasn’t too loud. Decent enough you could have a regular conversation and not have to raise your voice.

The food here is SO GOOD. Sure, it’s chicken nuggets and fries, but they nuggets were excellent and the options of dipping sauces they gave were perfect. The atmosphere and vibe inside was immaculate; the color scheme and decor feels like you’re in a hip 70s lounge. The drinks were well made and super tasty.

The staff were polite, but like most super hip Portland establishments, you’re also met with staff that seem put out by patrons excitement.

Love it here! The artichoke dip is absolutely delicious and it’s so nice to finally find a place that serves it with bread instead of chips. The atmosphere and music was also so groovy and fun. Can’t wait to come back here.

Wonderful, throw-back vibes, friendly people (I asked the bartender how her day was going and got an honest to God response- I was genuinely caught off guard for a moment), delicious food, excellent happy hours. Do go, but if you plan to go to the Tuesday pre inflation happy hour, arrive exactly as they open. Everyone else does.

Pretty new place that recently opened up in the Belmont area. It has the retro vibe feel to it. The interior was nice and well decorated. They also have the outdoor tables with heat lamps available. We got the Sugar Hill Old Fashioned and a cheeseburger. The drink was good, and the cheeseburger reminded me of a McDonald’s cheeseburger, but of better quality. Overall, it’s a cool place to check out and have a drink at.
