This is the best reason to visit Millersville, but can be very inconsistent. I’ve had the best Italian sub in Lancaster County, and I’ve had an Italian that is barely above average. Really makes a difference who is cooking.

Sugar Bowl is a hidden gem on the Millersville campus that has good food and prices. The pizza and cheesesteak subs are delicious and they are not afraid to make a proper, crispy coated chicken strip that is still moist on the inside.

When we first moved to the area, everyone said we had to get Sugar Bowl stromboli. It was a tip that has proven valuable over the last 8 years. It’s our kids’ favorite for boli and fries, and they’re the only place that has delivered crispy fries to me that also don’t need salt. Fans of the garlic cheese bread as well. They also have some subs and sandwiches vegetarians can eat, which is much appreciated. Glamorous? No. But who wants a glamorous stromboli? These are beautiful on the inside where it counts. There’s more than one reason it’s been here forever.

Awesome place, just moved in to the University, and I’ve had more food here than in MU dining. All the staff are nice, the food is good, and best of all, Sugar Bowl is quite affordable 🙂

Great little sub/snack shop. I had a turkey sandwich and my husband had a cheesesteak. We shared French fries. Everything was excellent.

Im a commuter at Millersville University, and I eat lunch here 3 times a week in-between classes for the past year. I have tried almost every menu item and every single one of them has been absolutely amazing. Service is amazing, food is amazing, atmosphere is amazing, and price is amazing for the portion you receive. Very clean restaurant as well. I would recommend this as a great place to get lunch or dinner and study in-between classes.

The Owners of this great piece of Millersville history, are the nicest, kindest and hardest working couple you could meet. Great food, great service and a flavor of their own, you always know when you have had a Sugar Bowl hoagie, pizza or whatever your favorite dish.

I have to admit: I came back for nostalgia. I remember back when this kid from the Philly area came here in 1985. The Sugar Bowl was one of the first places that I tried. Coming from Philly – I had no idea what a grinder was, so I asked. Basically, a cold hoagie (or other sandwich) that was put in the oven to heat it up. So, I got an Italian grinder. Basically, a heated up Italian Hoagie. It was amazing – taking something that I loved and turning it into a hot, crispy, gooey, delicious mess. Today, I got the same. The ingredients, the build – all on point. However, it was only heated up enough to make the bread slightly crispy. There was no gooey center mess of melted cheese and all of the other ingredients. I should’ve known something wasn’t right when they handed me the wrapped sandwich and it wasn’t hot. Service was great, but please teach your staff how to make a proper grinder.Everything thing is there – it’s just oven training. I ate the whole thing in the gazebo by Dutcher and it was delicious. Just 10% away from taking me back to 1985.
