As a man from Milwaukee, Wisconsin I was really trying to find a place that tasted like home after my move to Iowa City after opening my Insurance Brokerage. Let me tell you from the presentation, to the atmosphere this made me feel right at home.
The food is more than flavorful, made with lots of love and care. I discovered a new newspaper and organization for people like me here in Iowa. Stopping here has truly made my week. Thank you Sugapeach!

I had a great experience getting to know the owners while waiting for my to go order. The owners are awesome and I enjoyed hearing their story.
The lemonade is a must. Homemade and amazing. We tried the peach, then stopped by later to get more. The pineapple was a favorite. The fish and chicken was great. I really liked the coleslaw. The cornbread and hush puppies were delicious. The owner was extremely kind and through in some collard greens and extra Mac-n-Cheese.
If you are in North Liberty I recommend stopping in and enjoying this home style food.

If I lived closer, I would eat here everyday! Catfish and cod equally delicious, the fresh tasting green beans were made the way they should be, mashed and gravy – superb. This gravy did not come from a can. Mac and cheese was homemade as well with real cheese, not powdered or paste. Homemade hush puppies and corn bread. Get you some!

Our second visit and we are so happy to have discovered this gem. The service is incredible. Both times my husband was very impressed how he was greated with such genuine warmth and kindness that takes Midwest nice to a whole new level. We had the chicken. The pieces aren’t huge, so plan portions according. Othes have commented on this, but this is how chicken is supposed to be. Fast food restaurants have overfat, greasy frankenchickens plumped up with goey breading that soaks up even more grease. Sugapeach tastes homemade. Simple, comfortable and tasty. No heartburn. We also had the mashed potatoes and gravy (delicious), cornbread (wow!) and fried okra (omg!) The latter was something I fell in love with on my first visit to the south and haven’t been able to find in the Midwest (unless frozen, which makes it soggy). This was fresh with a light breading and just how I remember it. Thank you for cooking such a wonderful, fresh, homemade meal when I was too exhausted to cook after a long day at work. We appreciate your kindness and the care you put into your business.

This family-owned gem specializes in fish and chicken done right, with combo options that let you mix and match favorites like catfish, cod, flounder, and a full variety of chicken cuts (breast, thigh, wing, leg, or tender). The sides are just as impressive — homemade and full of flavor — from collard greens and mashed potatoes to spaghetti, mac n cheese, coleslaw and more.
My husband ordered the “Pleaser Combo” with catfish and chicken tenders, plus greens and mac n cheese. I went with the two-piece chicken tender meal with spaghetti and mashed potatoes. Every bite was fresh, hot, and full of soul.
What really stood out was the love and care in everything — from the homemade tartar and dipping sauces to the incredible house-made mild sauce. (Pro tip: It’s bottled on the tables, and you’ll want to use it on everything. It’s that good!)
They also bottle their own lemonades and teas, and they are so good! We had to grab more for the road home. The pineapple lemonade was top notch, and we also enjoyed the peach lemonade and sweet tea.

This place is a hidden gem! My teenage son was hungry and couldn’t wait until after grocery shopping, so we stopped in on a whim. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who not only provided him with an amazing meal but introduced him to real lemonade (something he refused with me) as she had pineapple lemonade for sale too.
We brought him home and immediately his father and sister wanted to know what smelled so good. Already making plans for a weeknight order from Sugapeach.

Recently moved to the quad cities from SAV. GA. I had a trip to north liberty today and my gut wouldn’t let me pass without seeing if it’s a taste of home. I ordered to go for my husband and I as he is from Mississippi. Made it home the food was still fresh and hot from the hour drive back … corn bread didn’t make the trip as we demolished it in the parking lot. So sweet. Not dry. Yes. Collards? Mac and cheese? Simple is best and boy they do it. Customer service was adorably friendly. It’s felt like a taste of home we’ve been desperately craving. We will definitely make the hour drive back.

Yummy!
Truly a locally owned business. The husband and wife team do a great job. Great fish (haven’t tried the chicken, yet) and the sides taste fresh and tasty, also. I’ll be going back!!!
Had another nice lunch at Sugarpeach. Nice selection reasonable prices, too.
