Surprisingly good find in an unexpected area. Went for a late lunch, got very tasty dishes. Tried their “moo young,” “nam kao,” and “panang curry.” Service was reasonably quick, dishes had a lot of flavor, Thai iced coffee was rich. Will return. Parking lot is on a steep hill and getting out of there will require a bit of special maneuver to get back onto the street. Watch your bumper when leaving.

Came here last night for the first time with my family. I haven’t been here but my family has. Sue’s kitchen is the most underrated restaurants you’ll ever come across to. There food is authentic and you can taste the flavors as how much they represent the Laotian and Thai cuisine combined. For appetizers, We ordered the chicken satay, wings, and calamari. I forgot to snap a pic of the wings because it was too good as I glazed it with the sauce it came it. For mains, we got crab fried rice and chicken pad Thai. The food is great. Lastly, we had their coconut ice cream with fried banana. It was something different for a change, and I liked it. The restaurant got busy after we left and I’m glad more people came. Service was good, not a disappointment in sight! Thank you!

I’ve been coming here since they opened. This almost-hidden restaurant should be in the middle of downtown. The food is great, and the price point used to be great, but since they sold to a new owner, prices are average. The food isn’t overly ‘heavy’ or oily, yet very flavorful. It’s gotten so popular over the years, so be prepared at wait a bit for a table.
The driveway is very steep, so come in at an angle, or use a taller car. I don’t think I’ve had much difficultly finding parking.
CV update: you know this place is super good because the folks that come here have a very difficult time deciding what to get. No joke, some lady took 15 min just picking what to order.
Update: The food isn’t what it used to be. The noodle dishes are a bit on the bland side. The stir fry noodles tend to stick into a clump.

This cozy Laotian eatery hidden away in the back of a mini mall serves a tasty mix of Thai and Laotian dishes. Thorough satisfaction upon trying something new every visit.
The menu includes items often not seen elsewhere, including unique noodle soups and a variety of vegetarian dishes.
The pad krapow seafood was sautéed to perfection, with yummy basil sauce, green beans, peppers and bamboo shoots. Yum Goong shrimp salad, savory and lemongrass forward. Fried chicken and fried rice platter, spiced comfort. Kao Soy and Tom Yum Goong noodle soups, classic.
Looking forward to coming by again.

We ordered $50 worth of food today at Sue’s Kitchen. The fried chicken wings were overcooked, dried out and inedible. The fried wings and rice dish consisted of 4 half pieces of chicken (2 whole wings) and a serving of fried rice which had no taste totaling approximately $17. The Pad See Ew was dried out, gummy and tasteless and had little to no chicken or broccoli in the dish. Unfortunately, we ended up tossing most of the food in our recycle bin. What has happened to what used to be one of the few restaurants in El Sobrante that had consistently good food? Sadly to say that we will not be returning to Sue’s Kitchen again.

Best Tom kha kai ever! Have tried numerous places, but this place is perfect. Lots of fresh independence, not too spicy, good coconut flavoring and the soup base is well balanced. Other dishes, like pad thai, is excellent too.

Ordered the chicken larb, yum woon sen & thai iced tea. The larb was tasty. Full of flavor. The yum woon sen was tasty also, but a little dry this time around – nonetheless, still flavorful & yummy. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. Staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. Can’t go wrong if you want authentic Thai/Lao food. This was a “to-go” order.

I ordered a Pad Thai and Paneng chicken . Pad Thai noodles was over cooked , and was blunt , paid for extra veg , what I got was two broccoli and two slices of carrot . The chicken curry was tasty and fresh, I would recommend trying out this restaurant as it’s a local business and food didn’t felt like too commercial . I will for sure try something else later on
