They serve lots of classic “neighborhood” french fare and they do it quite well: crepes, moules, steak frites, quiches, escargots, baguette sandwiches. Nice atmosphere and decent service. Outdoor seating available. If I lived in the area I’d be a frequent customer.

Love this place! Stopped by for Sunday brunch and got French toast, a tarte a l’oignone, and a salade fermiere. All the food was fantastic. Portions were large, the greens were fresh, and the French toast was light. The service was a bit slow, which was not out of character for a French place, but the experience overall was very enjoyable. We also saw a sign that they have all you can eat mussels and fries with a glass of wine for $25 on Wednesdays!

In a town w/many French options its hard for a place like Sucre to stand out. I recently brought a group w/me to dine here and while the food was fine the overall experience left much to be desired….let me explain. First we were seated right away at the front of the restaurant which normally I would be a lil off put by wasnt so bad since the heat was on. But there were only two waiters covering the entire restaurant which seemed odd however. It took a while for us to put in an order. The best part of my meal was the onion soup(pictured) which was very true to tradition with a garlic bread crouton and gruyere cheese. Unfortunately it was a bit heavy on the salt and the sherry for my taste and not rich enough in the beefiness. I ordered a jamon buerre fromage sandwich and the French bread was pale with not crispy crust I have come a custom to and the sandwhich overall was pretty salty…add the fries being soaked in a salt water before being fried and the whole thing is an a salt bomb on the tongue . Still good ham….good cheese. But not impressive in any way.

Did an internet search for French onion soup nearby, 5 minutes later we were seated and waiting for our soup. We also had 1 of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. We will definitely be back

Finally a place that serves late Brunch on the weekends.
My visit today was the first of what will be many.

Very nice, charming, French restaurant with very good food.
They specialize in mussels and crepes (not that I recommend the two together). They have both crepes for a main course as well as dessert.
Crepes are around $16. Other mains start around $22 and go up to around $32.
Main crepes are excellent. The dessert crepes are good but they are a little chintzy on the fruit.
Mussels are excellent. Go Wednesday and for $25 all you can eat mussels plus a glass of wine.
They have a decent size wine list but their wines are not great quality and their markup is pretty steep ($38 for a $10 bottle in the store). So I’d pass on that. Bring your own decent bottle and pay their $20 corkage fee.

My wife and I went for the all you can eat mussel special, and they were terrific. This is second time we’ve come and both times the food was out of this world. The servers seemed a bit in the weeds while we were there, and our meals took a bit to come out. When we asked for wine or alcohol suggestions they didn’t really have any, which surprised a bit, but we chalked it up to them being a bit shorthanded that night. The overall experience here Is great, the menu has French standards and we have yet to be disappointed with any of the food. We will be back.

We make Sucre Sale our one place to eat when we make a trip to Ridgefield. The food is consistently delicious and authentic. The owner and staff are always very welcoming. Nice outdoor seating area, too.

We found out on our last visit that their bread actually comes from France — it’s fantastic! Also, they sometimes run a small shop with pantry items; if it’s open, their prepared salt mixture is a MUST purchase!

So good! Come on Wednesday nights — all you can eat mussels (four sauces) and French fries, plus a glass of wine — for $30 per person!

The ambiance was very romantic & reminiscent of an authentic French bistro.

All of the sauces were great (you can try them all), but my favorite was the mustard/caper.

Although there were empty tables tonight, the person who recommended Sucré Salé to me suggests reservations.

We’ll definitely be back!

Great hidden gem. Excellent authentic French cuisine with good wine list. Loved the ambiance as well, with soulful French music. Had the endive salad which was terrific and the chicken special of the day but want to go back and try some of the other dishes.
