I’ve been coming here regularly for about 2 years now and they are pretty consistent. Some of the staff are better than the others, but they are all always friendly. Food is consistent with standards you’d expect from Subway restaurants. Great deals on food pretty often. The app works great here and they almost always have my orders ready to go.

While I am normally content with the Subway in Los Osos, California, today was sorely disappointing. I ordered a cup of their Broccoli and Cheese soup. The employee working at approximately 5:15 pm on August 20, 2025, tried to charge me for a full cup of soup even though the cup was not even a half cup. I was willing to pay for half a cup but they either did not understand me or they were unwilling.

The employees are always welcoming and friendly. It’s subway, you get what you get but the employees are nice and I’ve gotten what I’ve asked for every time. They typically remember you when you’re a repeat customer, which is sweet as well.

What can I say. If you have eaten at a subway before then, you know what to expect. The food at the Los Osos subway is better than 90% of the subway restaurants that I have previously dined at. I always get paemrmasean and oregano bread, who doesn’t? This location is always very clean inside and out. I have only had a bad sandwich here one time. The nice girl that made it just put way too much mayo and mustard on my sando. Every other time that I visited, I was satisfied with the quality of my food. I ordered ahead of time through the Subway app on my phone while I was in the parking lot and saved a bundle on the buy 1 get 1 free footlong sandwich coupon. I had a gift card that I utilized. ***PRO TIP*** Always order through the app to get great deals that are app specific. You can choose to pay with a card (credit, debit, gift) through the app, or to pay with cash/card in store upon pickup. I suggest ordering through the app because you will generate loyalty points on your purchases that you can then redeem for future subway purchases.

I was disappointed my last visit. The young man behind the counter used his gloved hand to ring up my sandwich, before he was finished adding ingredients to my 2nd sandwich! I asked him to change his gloves before finishing the other sandwich. This is a health & safety issue that should be taught during training. “Take off your gloves before ringing up customers.” Better yet, have a manager there to ring up sandwiches. They can oversee their trainees. Please hire more employees for this location. There are always just 2 employees and a 10-15 minute wait to be served at lunch time. When a person is on their lunch hour, that is time wasted!

My son and I snuck away from our everyday routine and had a little quality time at subway for lunch one random Thursday. The food was great. Our subs had quality ingredients packed into soft fresh bread… What more could you ask for? Also the employees were kind and patient and offered us every opportunity to upgrade our meal. Well done subway!

I haven’t been back to this Subway in a few months because my past experiences have always been quite underwhelming. The customer service was sub-par. I waited in line behind one other person for 10 minutes while the manager did something else and just let one sandwich artist handle multiple subs by them self…very slowly. In my opinion, if possible, there should always be one sandwich artist to each customer in the store to ensure prompt service. One sandwich artist should not be holding down the line while another employee stands at the register for 5-10 minutes at a time in-between processing payments. The employee making my sandwich was picking up food scraps off of the edges of the bane while my sandwich toasted. The two employees were talking to each other and gossiping during the sandwich making process. Employees should be paying the customer their full attention at this time. Employees failed to suggestive sell. The employees definitely show when they are stressed and at times they do NOT look thrilled at all to be making your sandwich. Food quality was fine and the food temps appeared to be within the safe zone. The sandwich artist wasn’t sure of the correct formula for the amount of meat on my sandwich. I informed them what the formula calls for. This store needs to focus on improving customer service and suggestive selling.

The worst experience ever had with a walk in order. I ordered a deli sandwich at the counter and she got my order wrong right in front of me, and charged me double meat and cheese for both sandwiches, which made my 12.99 coupon for two footlongs, double the price at 23.99 .
she argued and I walked. She was confused but I have always ordered this for the thirty years I have been going there.
She charged me double meat and cheese on both, She refused to correct the order, arguing for 5 minutes, I had no choice but to walk out, very hungry, I told her I was willing to pay for the double on the first one.
I simply went across the street to Ralph’s for 6.99 they pile high meat and cheese, highest quality deli sandwich, with everything I wanted no extra charges. After 30 years I’ll never step foot in los osos, ca subway again..a horrible experience.

In contrast I’ve had the best experience at High st. Deli , who corrects there orders with out complaints. And Ralph’s deli across the street makes the best sandwiches as well with outstanding service.

This los osos subway is pretty good. They usually have a younger staff that are actually trying to do a good job. It’s kind of a smaller establishment so seating is limited but comfortable. Food is decent. Management on the other hand….. This next part is not my opinion or view. Someone I knew worked there for some time and management would strongly suggest that they worked extra hours but not clock in for those hours and if they worked over 32 hours the workers would get reprimanded. No one was allowed to work full time and they wanted them to work for free. I also heard they are understaffing on purpose to maximize profit and that they are letting underage employees open and close the store which according to subway franchise rules your not supposed to do. So next time your there give the person making your sandwich a nice tip!

Good customer service, but the owner has really cut back on the toppings unless you ask. Not to mention if you want your sandwich warmed it cost fifty cents. This is sad but the charge is a tax for California.
