The attached photo is a receipt from this Subway for a sandwich I bought back in 2009, more than 17 years ago. It was the first meal I had in the country I now call home.
I found this receipt tonight in a box of old memories and searched to see if this location still exists, and it does.
In 2009, this country inaugurated its first Black president.
In 2009, a sandwich here cost $5.
Seventeen years have come and gone. The country has changed so much — some say for better, and many others would say for worse.
This small, ordinary receipt marks an extraordinary beginning for me.
Thank you for the sandwich.

I love this place it’s always clean and the staff is always so friendly. And they make sure that their cookies are always fresh as well as the bread. I love the fact that they make sure everything is so fresh. This place has been around for a while and even though the parking is hard to find from time to time the service definitely makes up for that.

There is no glass or cup for plain drinking water. You are asked to buy a cold drink or hot coffee to get a glass or cup. Drinking plain water is a important part of any type of food. I had to pay for a coffee. The cup I used first for water and then had coffee. Everyone does not like to have cold drinks with meals!!! Water should not be charged at all in any form. It is part of the paid meals.

There was only one tax preparer left (Mr.Lynn) I forgot his last name) he was very nice, understanding, & helpful about my tax situation. In addition, I came when it was closing in 5 minutes, he gave me a free 15 minute consultation anyway, great advice and necessary form to take care of my tax matter. I’ve been with Jackson Hewitt for over a decade (San Bernardino Carousel Mall location); but, my old preparer moved out-of-state) & now this will be my new tax preparer and location for filing my taxes each year. Jackson Hewitt tax services are the best the preparers are always more friendlier, precise, and timely.
