My time of purchase was 930am. The employee did not wash her hands but, she did put gloves on. The oven was not warmed up. The widely used mayonnaise was empty. The employee kept going back and fourth from the back area, not washing her hands but putting gloves as she returned to me. Employee wore a long sleeve that touched the meats and veggies everytime she put her hand in it. She did not listen to the quantaty I wanted on my sandwich. I asked for “A Strip”of mustard and mayo and got glops. This was the messiest sandwich I’ve had at subway. The covers for the meats looked like they’ve never been washed, they’re floors and carpet were not clean. She had curly hair and wore glasses. The receipt name was Paul. They had a help wanted sign out front which could mean no one is picking up the slack. Almost forgot…the cookies were not baked fresh. Should’ve read the reviews before going in.

I’ve tried to eat at this subway on multiple occasions, every time I come in they are extremely slow. We where literally the only people in line and it took almost 15 minutes, while a line massed behind us. One girl was working the sandwhich station, while the other two literally took turns going to the back. The one sandwhich maker seemed more concerned about the volume of the music versus getting my food made. I am giving them two stars only because the staff was friendly and once I got my food it was decent. It just doesn’t seem like management or staff have any idea on what’s going on or any kind of hustle to get customers in or out. I would avoid this place if you’re in a hurry.

Was behind the owner of this store in a check-out line at City Market. He had maybe 100 individual bottles of beverages, and was clearly buying them to resell at his store about 100 ft down the way. (Pretty sure this is in violation of the subway franchise agreement, as well as a HACCP issue) anyways, he forgot his wallet and was SO RUDE to the cashier, and ended up storming off, leaving her with the cart full of beverages.
I mention this occurrence because it is another rendition of the same issue that plagues these steamboat subways. Whether or not the ownership is actually cruel I can’t say, but it’s certainly the impression I get as a customer every single time I walk in. (* used to, don’t go anymore). On more than one occasion I’ve walked in on an employee and the owner or manager screaming at one another, and it’s clear that everyone who works here is miserable.
It’s really apparent to us as customers when employees are operating in a toxic work environment. Yes, I know, we all know, that finding good workers is really hard in steamboat. That said, you guys have got to get it together and find a way to oveecome this, and to treat your employees, your customers, and the poor city market cashiers better.

I went to this subway (the one attached to Kum&go) in 2019 to “meet” an independent insurance agent to discuss the auto insurance quotes he found me.
Turns out he was the owner of the Subway, Paul and boy is it a wild story…
(I had never eaten there prior to that meeting, so had no idea the reputation, BTW I did try a sandwich from there at a later date and it was inedible sloppy trash)
So back to the story…
He led me to the back of the Subway, a desk overflowing with paperwork was positioned next to the drive thru window (which was closed and had old plus size green subway tee shirts hanging over it acting as “curtains”)
We go over the quotes and I decide to sign on.
Yes I know, who walks into that blind and STILL signs on as a client for this insurance agent? In my defense i was trying to be open minded and he had quoted me the best rates with nationwide.
Well imagine my surprise when 5 months later I get a letter from Nationwide stating my policy was CANCELLED, a month prior!! I had crossed multiple state lines in that time on a road trip, unaware that I wasn’t even insured.
I had no idea, they never emailed me or even sent ME a letter!
I even called nationwide to verify, they sent 2 letters to my “agent” that was ignored, stating they needed a copy of my bill of sale to continue my insurance policy.
They mailed him the first letter a month after I signed on, I can only imagine that letter getting swallowed by the mess on his desk
I called him furious and he was completely gobsmacked, he tried to blame Nationwide but there is NO excuse for that.
I even gave him a copy of my bill of sale when I signed on, he should have known they would have wanted it if he was actually good at what he does (which based on his reviews here and the failed ice cream shop he apparently opened in the middle of winter, he isn’t good at anything)
He offered to find me a new insurance provider, but I told him no thanks he had done enough. He apologized profusely, asked for my address to send me “something to make up for the inconveniences”.
Y’all he sent me a FIVE DOLLAR gift card to Starbucks a whole 7 months later
Don’t trust Paul for your sandwich OR your insurance needs.

The worst food experience I have ever had, two girls behind the counter clearly had no care for the business they were operating. Had only one type of bread, and it was stale. The girls behind the counter were snickering and wispering to one another. One of them had red hair all over the place with no hair net or hat. I got sandwich toasted and it was still cold. Never eating here again, and would recommend you to do the same.

I was standing waiting to be served at the counter. While an employee helped one customer ahead of me. I watched the owner scold an employee in front of the whole store. I found this so untasteful I walked out. So to the owner of the store someone needs to scold you publicly, if you need to discipline an employee the Ba k house is the place to do it not in front of patrons. Hope you have a nice day, treat your employees better.

This place is an atrocity. I felt like I was actually just in someone’s dirty house waiting for them to slap something together for me. Everything was filthy- the countertop, the bowls for the salad, the floors- absolutely everything. The employees looked like they had just crawled out of bed, and one of them had brought their kid with them to work. At some point during our meal the kid started yelling and crying in the middle of the restaurant. Other than the aforementioned , and the fact that they made the sandwiches wrong and charged us incorrectly- it was a positively lovely experience.

I do not understand how the owner of these stores is allowed to keep his franchise. How are you always out of everything? You are by a grocery store for the love of God! Walk over and get some onions! I am done with both of these locations and subway corporate should be too. The unsanitary conditions and no gloves are absolutely unacceptable. You won’t catch me at either location ever again.

1. Empty trash. Should be a health code violation. And probably one of many.
2. Quit fooling around and wait on the customers.
3. Restock your supplies, because you never know when you’re going to get busy. This includes having the FULL compliment of Subway breads, not just two.
4. Provide some napkins. Those help.
5. Have a manager on the premises, or hire someone besides irresponsible teens.
6. TURN THE MUSIC DOWN! This isn’t da club, and don’t play unbleeped versions of songs.

By far the worst subway I have ever been to ever. Service was SO SLOW. Oh we are out of this bread, oh we are out of this veggie. Sauce splattered on the display case. Went in with my boyfriend wanting two sandwiches and walked out with one. Timer on the toaster didn’t work and still had cold meat when it came out. Lights in the bathroom didn’t work with an overflowing trash can. Ruined my weekend in steamboat. Sorely disappointed
