The situation escalated unnecessarily. She made several inappropriate gestures, told me to “get out of my Subway,” and even called the cops. I was shocked by how badly this was handled. As a customer, I expect basic respect and professionalism, and unfortunately, this experience was the complete opposite.
I hope management looks into this matter seriously so that no other customer has to go through such treatment.
On 12/13/2025, I experienced the worst customer service I have ever had at a restaurant.
Earlier that day, I was in Thornton helping my father-in-law move with my family. We had 2 adults and 5 kids and were very hungry, so I placed a large order through the Subway app. I updated the pickup location to 3929-B E 120th Ave, Thornton, CO 80233. During checkout, the app displayed an error stating fountain drinks were unavailable. I removed the drinks and completed the order.
After checkout, I noticed the app glitched and defaulted the pickup location back to this Aurora store, which was 45 minutes away.
I immediately tried calling the Aurora location five times with no answer. Eventually, I received a call from a different number—someone working at the store. I explained the app error and asked them to please void the order since I was 45 minutes away and could not reasonably pick it up.
I was told they had already started making the sandwiches and could not void the order. I was then asked to send my home address so the food could be shipped, which I did. About 15 minutes later, I was messaged again and told that the manager would not help and that I would need to come pick up the food myself.
At that point, the sandwiches had already been sitting for approximately 45 minutes. I was being asked to drive 45 minutes to get cold food and then another 45 minutes home to hungry kids. I again asked that the order be voided so I could simply place it at the correct location. I was told that could not be done.
The employee repeatedly stated that I needed to “take accountability” for an obvious app malfunction and showed a complete lack of care, compassion, or willingness to help resolve the situation. There was no attempt to meet halfway, escalate meaningfully, or provide any reasonable solution.
To make matters worse, when I attempted to contact Subway customer service, everything routed through chat bots. I ultimately had to place a second order elsewhere, resulting in a double charge. Both the store staff and management stated there was “no other way” to reconcile the issue.
This was not a matter of a simple mistake—it was a complete breakdown in customer service, accountability, and basic human decency. The lack of empathy and refusal to assist, despite clear evidence of an app error, was unacceptable.
I will never return to this location. This was, without question, the worst restaurant experience I have ever had.
When I calmly asked if she could call her manager, she said, “I am the manager.” I then asked if she could contact her supervisor or boss, and she flat-out refused. There was zero accountability, zero professionalism, and zero interest in resolving a very simple, polite request.
After leaving, I tried every possible way to contact Subway’s headquarters or anyone responsible — I searched for phone numbers, emails, contact forms — nothing worked. This kind of silence from a global brand is unacceptable. If there’s no way to escalate poor treatment, how can any customer feel respected or protected?
I am extremely disappointed and will never purchase from Subway again. I strongly recommend others avoid Subway too — not just because of rude local staff, but because the company offers no real way to escalate when things go wrong. If a business refuses to listen to its customers, it doesn’t deserve them.
See pic. This is a Titan turkey, lettuce, spinach, extra onions, extra black olives, extra mayo, pepper, vinegar. The sandwich is mostly bread. See pics for reference. Would not advise anyone going here because it’s obvious they are trying to cut corners with what you pay for.
