The coupon scanner was busted so they couldn’t take my coupon. I only ever go to subway with a coupon because the sandwiches are not worth the price without a coupon. A 6 inch with two pieces of bacon is not something they should sell at regular menu price; it’s a scam. Because the employee was so new, she couldn’t do a price override and give me the value of my coupon even with a manager on the phone. I begrudgingly paid for the sandwiches because they were for my mom; if it were just me, I would have left them with 2 unpaid sandwiches.
The employee gave me backtalk because she didn’t like the way I handed over my cash (between my index and middle fingers). I’d probably act rude to customers too if I was forced to work the lunch rush by myself. She looked pretty young so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was her first customer service role.
Stop trying to skimp out on labor and put some experienced employees on shift. Lake Charles has a billion subways as is, and people are not obliged to come to this clown show. Next time, I’ll go to the Lake St. one or the one by Albert-son’s. Or maybe, I’ll just stop going to subway altogether because the sandwiches are hardly worth what they are, even with a coupon.
