I am writing to express my significant dissatisfaction with a recent experience I had at your 1008 Weiland Rd, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089 restaurant on 5/21/2025, at approximately, 3:25pm
My order consisted of a foot long Subway club sub on White bread with spinach, tomato, cucumber, onion, green pepper, pickle, banana pepper and american cheese. The primary issues I encountered were as follows:
I ordered on the app to utilize the $6.99 promotion.
They were preparing the sandwich as I arrived. While watching them prepare my sandwich, they applied 4 slices of turkey, 2 slices of roast beef, 2 slices of ham & 4 pieces of cheese.
The issue I have with this is the subway club includes 4 slices of Turkey, four slices of roast beef, two slices of ham and and 8 slices of cheese( as advertised on your menu, two times cheese)
I’ve been a customer for a long time. and I know what my favorite sandwiches include.
Upon explaining to them that sandwich included. 2 x cheese and that the sandwich was missing some meat. They exclaimed to me that &6.99 sandwiches, we’re subject to less meat and cheese. Now the plot thickens. Now we get to the good part, the toppings. They were refusing to put the toppings I had requested that on the app, on the sandwich. Stating that now the sandwiches only come as reads on the menu. This one only included lettuce, tomato and onion. I asked them to cancel my order and refund my payment, which they refused to do, and there is no way to cancel an order in your app. So I wound up getting stuck with a sandwich that was not satisfactory.
After speaking with the owner on the telephone, they reluctantly finished the sandwich with significantly less than usual toppings, leaving the sandwich feeling very sparse.
This experience was particularly disappointing as I am a frequent Subway customer, and I generally appreciate the quality and consistency of your food. However, this recent visit fell far short of the standards I have come to expect from your brand.
I hope you will investigate this matter thoroughly. I would appreciate a response regarding the steps you will take to address these concerns and prevent similar issues in the future.
first off, they say they accept coupons on the actual subway site for this location but i walked in and they have a makeshift sign saying they don’t accept any coupons.
there were no customers and three employees just sitting around – i ordered three subs and there is barely any meat or veggies on all three subs. they use the veggies so sparingly for what reason? i asked for extra veggies because they were barely putting any to begin with and they added just one piece of everything i asked extra for. i have a tuna-less tuna sandwich that is 75% bread. this is extremely disappointing.
This location in particular is always clean and the owners/staff are very friendly. The main woman who owns/works there recognizes me and is always quick to say hello when I walk in. I think she and her staff know me by my orders and seem to put a little extra if I order for delivery.
My advice to other sub shops: would it kill you to add black olives and green peppers (not mixed with onions) to your topping offerings?
Located in the same strip mall as Niki’s Gyros and Fuji Thai. It’s a great location, clean, fresh food, and always freshly baked breads, and friendly staff. It’s worth going to for this alone.
