We stopped by around 4:30 PM on a Thursday in 2025, and WOW — what a treat! My family ordered two FootLongs, and they were incredible. Perfectly made, delicious, and seriously next-level quality I didn’t expect from a gas station subway.
I used to work at Subway myself, and I have to say — Tommy absolutely suprised me! He made my sub even better than I ever could. His energy, enthusiasm, and positive attitude made the whole experience so fun.
Hands down, Tommy is the BEST Subway employee in Steele, North Dakota — and honestly, the best I’ve ever met in any subway!

**Got Food Poisoning** As a long haul truck driver I often stop at this location to get fuel and grab a sandwich. I have never had any issues until yesterday. I ordered a foot long rotisserie chicken with lettuce and onions. About 5 hours later I was violently vomiting. I understand that in some cases it could be the food producer if the cause was the produce so I am hesitant to blame Subway, however, whatever the cause, I would be very careful eating here until further notice. The date of the incident was 12/13/2024 and the ND Health Department has been notified.

I had to wait 25 minutes for the two people working to make sandwiches for a mobile order. I waited patiently while they picked up the order only to have two customers who walked up to be helped before me and the young man working there knew I had been waiting for a long time. All I wanted was a salad bowl. The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! Zero people skills. I didn’t want to wait anymore probably a good choice. Took my business elsewhere. I felt like I was in the twilight zone ♀️

Bread was overcooked or sat all day. They were out of most cheeses and no meatballs. 2 of them took forever to add toppings to the subs and had to keep repeating myself for them to add the items. Not a great location for this subway.

The horrible service/rude old lady at Subway comments are no joke! Malissa was so inconvenienced to make me a salad last night I took my business elsewhere. If Malissa remains in the customer service industry, somebody really should explain to her that the customer is NOT an interruption to her work day.. the customer IS THE REASON for her work day.

When I got there, there was no one else in line. She asked if I had a mobile order, I said no… Then she told me I had to wait 10 minutes for them to complete a mobile order. I asked if there was someone else working and was told ” she’s busy”! Literally going to make me sit there. Extremely poor customer service.
