Disclaimer: I came through at the end of Sturgis Rally week.
Truly, I wish that I could review the food. It had been quite a while since I’d had subway, and I was really looking forward to either the new crunchy steak sandwich or the “beast”. Sadly, I wasn’t able to try anything.
When two others and I walked up to the counter, two freshly clocked-out employees looked at us, yelled for Riley to come over to Subway, and left quickly. Around three to five minutes later, he came over, gloved up, and asked for orders.
This was during rally week, so lots of warmth and open gas station doors. Naturally in central SD, this means that there are flies. The only issue is that the food hoods were open the whole time. I seriously considered taking a picture, but I don’t think that it’s entirely fair to put that up online. There were flies all over the customer-facing side, and there were plenty on the food.
Riley started making food for the other customers. They asked about a food product, and he left the line to go back to find out. He was gone from the line, with flies on the food, for a pretty full minute. Benefit of the doubt would tell me that he was doing his job, and probably just didn’t know. He wasnt rude or anything, but just wasnt observant.
After he came back, a young girl came over to the subway side, looked at us all, and slowly gloved up to take orders.
I just decided at that point to just go get some heat lamp burgers at Loves.
The Subway was not well maintained, although the rest of the gas station seemed well kept up. I hope that this information helps, and I wish all the employees the best.

They say 24 hours but came in at 9:05 pm and the staff was finished attending the 1 person in line and after finishing with that person they went behind those doors and never came back out for 25 minutes and said they were close . What a shame

Scalding hot door handle, could use a pool noodle or pipe insulation to make it better. Stopped for dinner and they said they were all out of all bread and could only make bowls. Had to drive 20 more minutes to another location. Very disappointed as we were traveling and hungry with someone in the car that could only eat Subway.

Just stood in line for 20 min, only to be told they 1. Don’t know how to honor my BOGO coupon and 2. Are out of bread. Manager came back and offered a half assed sorry. What a JOKE!! 3. Two customers before me asked for a couple of the fresh cookie that were cooling on a pan and was told by an employee no because the cookies would fall apart if he tried getting them off the pan. That’s pure BS employee just didn’t want to.
