Reviews
Our actual cashier and sandwich maker herself, was absolutely wonderful today.
The absolute worst thing about the time we spent in the shop WAS NOT the woman behind the counter.
It was indeed the fact that she was the only staff in the building. When we walked in, she had very kindly and professionally alerted us to the fact that she had 4 sandwiches ahead of us from a mobile order, just after handling who knows how many sandwiches she dealt with at the drive-thru.
Reasonably, this took a little bit of time, as we quickly realized she was completely by herself.
The wait was not her fault. It was indeed the lack of accountability of management and unwillingness to properly staff.
So while we were pleased with our service, we are mortified and discontent at the sheer lack of Corporate/Franchise responsibility.
If nothing else, she deserves management position and management pay if she is going to be the sole person running an entire shop by herself with no backup.
The straw that broke the camel’s back happened when I swung through the drive-thru for lunch. My aide was with me, but only I was getting food. I said I wanted a footlong cold cut combo on white with American cheese and then after the guy got that set up he asked for my veggies. This is where things started going wrong.
I said I wanted lettuce. Then lettuce again, and then lettuce again. Before I could even ask for onions, the guy speaks up and says, “That’s it. I can’t give you anymore lettuce!” Umm, I wasn’t going to ask for more, I was going to ask for onions, but how rude of him! I’ve never been spoken to like that before when placing an order with Subway! I ALWAYS order a cold cut combo on white with American cheese, lettuce, lettuce, lettuce, onions, oil, salt and pepper, and never in the thirty years that I’ve been ordering this exact same sandwich has anyone ever snapped at me like that!
After finishing my sandwich order, my aide decided they would actually like something, so I said we wanted one more sandwich. The guy snaps at me again and says, “You said you only wanted the one sandwich!” Now, I’ve been eating at Subway for 30 years. My son’s first job was at a Subway. I know the process is to get all the sandwiches in an order started with the bread and type of sandwich you want and then to customize the toppings as the subs for the total order move down the assembly line, so I get that it was a minor inconveinece. But we were literally the only car in the drive thru and there was one person inside the store. It wasn’t the major catastrophe he was acting like it was. People change their minds sometimes, and he responded so rude and unprofessionally. It was just uncalled for.
The final nail in the coffin was when I got home and opened my sandwich. Even though I’d clearly asked for three servings of lettuce, which the guy seemed so ticked about, there was literally only a pinch of lettuce on each half of the sandwich. I’m talking such a skimpy amount that if I’d pulled it all off and put it into a measuring cup, it wouldn’t have even filled an eighth of a cup! That’s not even one serving of lettuce, let alone three! I’d also asked for salt and pepper and there was none, so after being treated so rudely, I had the saddest, most skimpy little sandwich! This was about the fifth or sixth time in a row my sandwich was made this way, not to mention that the last four or five times that I sprung for 50% more meat and extra cheese, I paid for it but never received it. All that combined with the rudest Subway worker ever who again screwed me on the toppings means I’m never coming back to this location!
