I purchased three sandwiches and three small drinks for my children, totaling $35. While I was at the register, the cashier kept pressuring me to add chips to my order after I told her multiple times that we already had some at home. During that time, my six-year-old daughter accidentally filled the wrong drink, threw the cup away, and went back to get another small cup to fix her mistake.
The cashier, whose name was Lisa, yelled across the counter that my child needed to pay for the new cup. I explained that we had already paid for the drink and that it was simply a mistake by a six-year-old. Instead of showing any understanding or compassion, she demanded payment for another drink cup or for us to return the one my daughter had already touched.
My daughter ended up running out of the restaurant crying. Despite just spending $35, the cashier cared more about a $2.00 cup than basic kindness and customer service. When I asked for the manager’s name, she ignored me and started speaking another language to her coworker, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. I had to raise my voice before she finally told me the manager’s name.
This experience was extremely disappointing and embarrassing, especially for my child. I will not be returning to this Subway location and do not recommend it to other families. Good customer service starts with empathy—and that was completely missing
If you don’t honor the coupons, that’s fine but you need to inform your customers.
The pulled pork and chicken was great and the Mac and Cheese will merit a double order next time. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes and it was Friday night. Fed six for $50.
