I used to get food here everyday. Haven’t been there in a yr or 2 because the service was terrible. Went today and stood in line behind 2 people and it took 20 minutes and still walked away with nothing. Ran outa time. Attention subway you’re gona have to pay a bit more competitively to get decent employees then you can be more picky. Better employees means more customers. The 3 employees who were standing around were moving in slow motion. The McDonald’s across the street was also terrible

I’m never pleased with this store. The store is bad about closing early,not all but a few employees always seem to be disgruntled. The sandwiches never taste that good. Have no idea why. It’s a busy location, so freshness is not an issue. It’s not very clean in the lobby. I’m not sure what the problem is. All i can say is that I never happy like i am at the one on hwy 158 and Celeste Road.

Update 04/21/25: Looks like a whole new team is working here now. They were short handed with two people, behind on online orders and trying to take care of the line at the same time during lunch rush. At one point, they were turning customers away because they ran out of receipt tape. The people waiting on their online orders were pretty much ignored.
The Subway in Mt. Vernon is a locally owned establishment and it’s in a rural location. The service is decent within regular business hours (8-5 M-F) when all the people from the surrounding plants get their food. I have not had any issues getting a sandwich to order.

The food and service is good when you can get it. Most of the time they close hours before actual closing time. It’s crazy. Is it just the one where I live? Or are all subways like this?

On today I came in on lunch thinking I was going to get me a salad instead I ended up having a dispute with an employee who was rude and the manager sat rite there as the lady harassed me , she was rude soon as I walk through the door demanding I owe her money from last year so I pulled my recipes and she was wrong , as a establishment they all were unprofessional even the manager I told her they need a communication skills class because her private matters shouldn’t even have been discussed or even brought up I just think she was having a bad day but I wouldn’t recommend nobody eats there I will be speaking with corporate so they can pull tape. I didn’t even get to order my lunch due to the fact my appetite was ruined from the sicking embarrassment the employees caused in my face as other customers were in there. At the end of the day they she greet you welcome to subway not telling a customer they owe you 20 bucks it was embarrassing as they tried to make it seems like I’m the bad guy but I handled it very professionally but the cashier should have told her conworker to relax an go to the back but again . That’s nvm .

Today was my last time ordering from here, and the same thing has happened the last 3 times I’ve placed an online order from this store. I ordered a foot long steak and cheese with double meat, toasted…. Picked up my sandwich and it has far less than double, honestly about half the meat that’s supposed to be on a normal sandwich. The bread seems like it’s not even cooked. It’s almost gooey and has a whiteish color go it, with absolutely no signs of being toasted. I’ve gave them my money for the last time.

Close earlier than they are supposed to on some days and some days doesn’t open at all. Cannot go off of the listed hours. Food is ok but good luck trying to catch it open.

This store is the WORST Subway I’ve ever visited! It truly needs to be closed down! I live in the area of Mount Vernon and now is the 5th time that I have tried to get my family dinner. All 5 times they have been out of Italian Herb and Cheese bread. The ONLY bread they have is white and wheat. The white bread is not cooked all the way nor have they let it rise! I refuse to go there again!! There was not a car in the parking lot!! No wonder! Please close it down and give us something we can actually eat!

NO service because of not wearing a mask, even though we have medical exemptions.
So, I covered my nose and mouth with my t-shirt and she StiLL wouldn’t serve us. She said it wasn’t the same and if I didn’t leave she would call the cops.
I tired showing her the Alabama mask requirements and explanations (as per the photo attached) and she wouldn’t even read it
So I read it off to her and she ran to get the phone number for the cops
So I thanked her for giving us a healthier fast food option to eat at (because there was a McDonald’s across the street we almost ate at) and we ended up not eating at either!
Thanks Subway for NoT serving us

Subway in Mt Vernon, AL on hwy 43. Went in at 630pm on Wednesday night on January 4, 2023. Had a party of 4 to order sandwiches. We stood there a few minutes deciding what we wanted. Then when we were ready to order one of the 2 young girls working said they were out of bread. Why didn’t they tell us that while we were deciding which sandwich to order?? Were going to order a salad but half of the veggies were frozen and unedible. Left subway and went across the street to mcdonalds to eat. This is the 2nd time I’ve gone in this subway and left because of pathetic service. First time the cashier couldnt figure out how to use my coupon and had the nerve to tell me I had to pay full price because she wasn’t trained to do coupons. Needless to say our party walked out and went somewhere else to eat. Will never go to this subway again. Extremely rude and poor service both times
