BEWARE! METAL ROD FOUND IN FOOD. NEGLIGENT WORKERS AT THIS LOCATION.

I ordered my usual footlong sandwich. When I was about halfway through the sandwich, I bit on something very hard – a sharp piece of METAL in my food. This approximately one-inch rod of metal nearly chipped my teeth and then slipped into my throat before I could stop it. I choked on this 1-inch rod of metal, but was luckily eventually able to bring it up into my mouth in time. After this, I was able to spit it out.

I will be attaching a picture for reference. For the picture, I dug through the sandwich and placed the metal rod on top of the sandwich for easy viewing. I think it is likely something broke off in the toasting machine during the sandwich-making process and lodged in the sandwich or a handheld tool broke and wasn’t noticed.

When I called to let the store know about the incident, the first employee gave me attitude and hung up on me. The manager became defensive and tried to shift blame. NO apologies were given and the staff failed to confirm that the equipment would be inspected for damage. From their language and attitude, they couldn’t care less that there was metal in their food or that someone choked. No one bothered to ask if I was alright.

I will be considering legal action against Subway for negligence and complete lack of concern from employees (and the incompetent manager) for consumer safety.

This location is very poorly managed. In the past, I have waited 20-30 minutes for employees to arrive (during open store hours). It seems they can show up whenever they want or take breaks for however long they want, with no accountability.

This place is just as bad as the hospital. Didn’t open when stated open time was gave a little grace on the time, but when I went to order a few of the veggies I wanted on my sandwich wasn’t prepped and he told me it would be 30 minutes. I told him I would wait, don’t think he expected me to say that. For you to be opening later than the stated opening time there is no reason why anything should not be stocked and prepped and ready to go for the start of your shift. Will never eat at this subway again.

While in the Hospital at UAB, my wife got me a Pizza at Subway, and also a 6-inch Sub, and the food was fresh and very tasty. First time for a Pizza from Subway, and I was very impressed. Great Job.

Honestly I’ve been holding back on writing this review. This location poorly managed. The food is not fresh ever and that’s if it is even stocked. From the outside looking in it doesn’t seem as though the staff is done right either. I only even see the same person each night. Please hire more people as of tonight 01/17/25 at 5:42 I and about 5 other customers have been standing here in kind eating and there isn’t anyone here a man stated he’d been waiting since about 5:15 for someone to come back I tried calling but of course no answer. Considering this is located within a hospital you’d think someone would at least be here. After today I don’t see myself spending money at this location anymore due to the constant let down. Please get this together

Long wait time – employees not behind the counter during their shift. Also, food doesn’t look fresh. Lettuce and guacamole are brown in color.

First of all who puts a salad in a paper box??? Rediculous when it gets everywhere and spills out the side of a soggy paper box And staff didn’t even cut the large tomatoes slices or cucumbers up at all. Then they do not have a fork for my salad! Worst experience ever with any subway. Do better my goodness.

Arguably the worst Subway I’ve been to. Food looks old, spoiled, dirty. There’re 6 people behind the counter speaking a foreign language and talking to each other. Sandwiches are literally empty. There is nothing inside, just old crusty bread.. The entry level footlong is $15. I really don’t understand how this place is still on business.
