Absolutely the worse experience I’ve had in my life dealing with subway. My wife ordered two sandwiches, a bag of chips and a drink on UberEats. I get to the restaurant within seconds of the order being placed because I’m two blocks away. I show the guy making the sandwiches my UberEats confirmation pic, my wife sent me. He finishes the order. I get to the window and he says hit confirm. I said hit what? Confirm confirm. I’m like what are you talking about? You order uber eats you have to hit confirm. I’m still lost and ask what does that mean. So I call the wife and say hit confirm, thinking uber eats has some new policy. She says I don’t know what that means either. So by that time another guest get her order and left the window. So I walk back to the window asking what he needs to see so I can get my food. Again he gives me the same verbiage. I say he cause I never got his name. Other guests in the restaurant said he was the manager. And does this all the time. The unprofessionalism was what they were referring to.
He is now louder and unprofessional. Telling me that I have to hit the confirm button. I explained I’m not an uber driver. I’m the person who ordered the food. Well my wife did. I showed him the receipt confirmation. He yelling at me that he can’t give me my food as there is a driver coming. I explained there is no driver. I’m here. No no no. It says pickup. I said YEAH ME, I’M HERE FOR PICKUP. Now at this time I’m not happy and definitely NOT NICE. We are both yelling and saying unpleasant things, as I’m lost as to him holding my food and refusing to refund my money cause he doesn’t know what he is doing. He said something threatening to me so I told him a few things. Banged on the window as I am heated by now and approached the door he gestured to. To me offering to want to fight me. I was wrong for that absolutely. At this time I’ve already asked him several times for a refund or my food. He continues with the previous statements but the difference is he telling me to call uber. I told him I’m not the confused one here you are so you call uber. That was the conversation during the yelling and screaming. However instead of calling uber to confirm or deny what I’ve said he decides to call the police. I told him I’ll be right here when they arrive.
The officers come in the door. I greet them and give them my side of the story, still heated so it was a few seconds before they got the full picture. Again my order was paid to UberEats. He sees the Order confirmation matches his receipt and he foolishly tells the officers the same thing I said but took 10 mins it seemed to justify why he isn’t giving me my food. Officer are visibly and audibly frustrated and yelled to calm the situation. As “he” and I began the debate again. They both turned to him and asked why if all the info matches can’t I get my food? Again he says he can’t cause a driver is coming. I asked him before to call uber and confirm but instead he called the police. They had to yell at him to go into the booth and call them rather than keep arguing with them. Now prior to his calling uber I’ve told him to call to confirm or deny. He wanted to be right versus getting it right. Finally after getting uber on they tell him exactly what I said and what the officers said. It’s not my fault uber doesn’t pay them for a week, which was finally the reason he says he didn’t want to give me the food I paid for. The officers said he shouldn’t accept uber eats orders if he has an issue with the payment policy.
Long story short. The person in this story should NOT be the manger and definitely needs further training. In this atmosphere of police brutality and as a black man, the stigma around us and the cops. He himself is a brown man. But he wanted to call the cops on me as he said he felt scared behind bulletproof glass.
Of the app, footlong subs barely have any toppings on either one of them. There’s a very, very small portion of meat in the middle of each sandwich. The sandwiches had a foul smell to them. When you order from the app and pick up from this store, I expect to be punished for it.
It’s like they take the old stuff from yesterday and make your sandwich with that. When you use the app for this store, expect to be punished with old, spoiled food. I tried this restaurant three times and got the same outcome. This time will be my last time. If you’re going to order from this store using the app, check your food before you leave the store, and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Stay blessed, stay healthy.
