The bread contains dicarbonamide, the same ingredient that’s used in Silly Putty and yoga mats. Great job, Subway, we just lost our trust in your business. Don’t understand why you would put that stupid ingredient in your bread when you can just make it from yeast, water, salt, sugar, etc
The chicken didn’t even click right with me at all. It’s just soy protein, which gives it a very slimy texture, ew. And yet you advertise this as real chicken
Hope others realize how disgusting that is. “Temporarily closed” Yeah right. Hope you stay closed for good

Purchased a wonderful sandwich on 7/17at Subway on State Street in Bangor. The young man who waited on my was very personable and respectful. He was attentive and helpful with suggestions.

A typical Subway but run better than most of the franchised businesses around the area. The staff are friendly and the ingredients are almost always fresh.
Unlike other Subway’s around the area, this one has never let me down.
Only con would be the lack of handicap access since the front door has steps.

Last week I came to try my first sub way in awhile. The owner was working and showed her a coupon I had gotten in the Bangor daily foot long for 6.99. the sandwich was awesome and the owner honored coupon and even gave me a cookie.Went in today and Carl refused my coupon and said maybe sub way main St will honor it. I told him the owner honored it last week. No customer skills and won’t go there with him working. He should have called his boss obviously he doesn’t know his job. Why would sub way even put coupons in the news paper then not honor it???

So I have been a longtime customer of the Subway on State street. I have used that location for the past 12 yrs. Unfortunately they have now lost me as a customer.
So online it shows that the closing time is 9pm. I arrived at the Subway shop at 8:03pm. When I showed up there were customers inside and the door was open. As soon as I walked in the lady behind the counter said they were closed. A bit Confused I looked around it the customers and the still open door and asked if she could just add me in for a 6in sub. She immediately said no! I responded with, it its literally 8:03 and your site says you close at 9pm. So with out argument is just left and drove across the river the the Subway on Brewer because there store said they were open until 9 as well. When I arrived in was greeted with a super friendly guy that was more than willing to take my order. Plus the establishment has been revamped. Much cleaner space and much more appealing compared to the State street location.
So I have found a new location for my once a week subway. State street subway has definitely lost me as a customer as of yesterday. If you are going r o pick and choose when you close and turn away customers maybe you should change the info on the website or post the info on the door of the establishment. Or better yet higher better employees that are willing to work and no close early while turning away customers.

I walked in during a very busy lunch rush just now, and the lady who was working still ensured my order was correct. I really appreciated that! I know it’s busy but you are doing a great job!

Recent visit 5/17/22: When I got some Hi-C for my fountain drink with my sandwich, it dispensed a dark purplish liquid. I ringed the cashier and he said that it was “triple x” Vitamin Water that was getting dispensed instead of Hi-C. This needs to be fixed immediately under management. The sandwiches are good. I am a loyal longtime customer to this Subway.

Just the other morning we’re sitting on the couch reading the local news paper and we get to all the ads. Full page of Subway coupons are there, and we both think “hmm, been a while since we had Subway, maybe we’ll use one of these buy one get one coupons” and get Subway for dinner. Anyways, that evening comes around and we’re running errands and it gets time for supper and we’re planning on picking up our subs soon. Get there to order subs and they inform us that “they don’t take coupons for free subs”. Why are we getting coupons locally if they don’t even honor the coupons. I reached out to Subway to complain about that and they said that each Subway is individually owned and operated. So, if the owners can just do whatever they want, why even use the Subway name? Paid way more for a smushed up sandwich and they didn’t even honor the BOGO coupons. Next time I guess I’ll just use the “buy two get them both half off” coupon….
