I hadn’t been here since early May. I went in yesterday. Ordered a king turkey & a regular corned beef. There was barely any meat on the sandwiches. They were truly skimpy. After this I’ll only go for BG fries. They’re still very good. Sandwiches, not so much.

I’ve seen this place so many times but just today I finally stopped by. If you’re looking for a small business that exclusively just makes sandwiches this is your place. I had the depth charge (roast beef, ham, and turkey) FIRE! I don’t know about the other reviews, but my sandwich was tasty and had enough fillings.

My daughter had the cheese sticks and fries. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The fries are definitely so good.. my chicken sandwich seemed like it was made sloppy with that lettuce. Just throw it all over there and two pieces of chicken breast. No cheese.

This is hands down my favorite local restaurant in the area. I’ve lived in the area over three years now, and it’s still my favorite. Classic Chicago food and you get great portions.

I ordered a roast beef sub with garlic fries. Horrible. The sandwich had 2 thin slices of fake roast beef. No sub sauce. The fires were undercooked and cold. Worst meal ever.

Let me start off by saying I have been coming to Sub Tender for decades. The original owners were the sweetest people and knew my order from memory.
Service has declined drastically. There’s a lady there maybe in her 40’s that works at the cash register who is rude, and has a hateful spirit about her. She’s confrontational when you try to explain to her she messed up your order. She has a hard time taking accountability for her mistakes and clearly doesn’t listen well. Her aura brings a bad vibe to the restuarant and is not good for business.
In these times when people are boycotting businesses she needs to check her attitude. The family needs to send her to therapy and a vacation to deal with her issues. I thought it was just me until I spoke with other people who had run ins with her.
It’s a shame when the original owners worked so hard and generations after destroy the quality and the legacy they left. At this point I can no longer patronize this business, some of the other people that work there are nice, but she’s horrible.
If anyone has any recommendatioms on amazing local sub places that I can patronize please let me know. It’s crazy that I have to stop patronizing a local business that I have been going to since I was young due to the ignorance and hate of one person. I wish them peace and blessings. Be careful how you treat people.
