Been a long-time patron of Subba. This is the best Asian restaurant on the Northside–one of the best in the city. I’m so happy about their new location. They finally have a space that lives up to their amazing food.

Food was ordered and picked up in store. I ordered the Chicken Thali dish. The food was tasty and spicy. The service was prompt, the restaurant clean, and conveniently located. The only complaint is the portion size which was pretty small.

Never tried Nepalese food before. Solid dishes, and easy access on the north shore. Seems more like a to-go type spot, but didn’t have an issue with a restaurant to ourselves.

Lovely little restaurant and delicious food. Would be willing to drive 1 hour to Pittsburgh just to go here again! I ordered the Nepali Goat Thali, Vegetable Momo, and Mango Lassi. One of my friends ordered the Bhutanese Chicken Datsi and I tasted it… it was delicious. If you like cheese you will like the Datsi dish!

I have been eating at subba for 6 years. The food has been phenomenal all along however the old location was dingy. The new location is nice, clean and inviting.

So I stopped in this place and was planning to eat but u really need to use the bathroom 1st due to the fact that I’m pregnant. I was rudely told no, even after I offered to put down my credit card before using the bathroom. I can’t really tell you what the food was like because I was never given the chance. I ended up eating at the restaurant located right next door. The customer is much better, they are friendly l and accommodating.

I love Subba – absolute hidden gem. The Momos are a requirement every time & the Tahli and Dahtshi are my favorites. I just alternate each time I go. I was so surprised to find Ema Datshi nearby because even in New York City, I had a hard time finding Bhutanese food. I took a train for like an hour once out to Queens from Manhattan, and the place was closed with none to few other options that were also closed. But Subba is about 4 minutes driving from me, basically always open when I want it – so I’m happy to eat there all the time. I will say that ever since they moved farther down East Ohio St from that shabbier place on the corner, I’m so happy they did because they seem really busy all the time. But they can be quite slow at times (I mean busy, but slow to take orders and bring food), they seem not to be able to keep up with all the new business. I would love it if they start hiring more staff soon. I don’t even care though, they’re always friendly and attentive – very hardworking. Sometimes the owner gives me take-home momo sauce if I ask <3 I just know not to go here when I'm in a rush But literally any other time, I'm there.

Decided to try something new and very happy we did. Local, ethnic cuisine. Really enjoyed our chicken thali and veg momo and lo mein. Fyi byob. Read reviews about new location, take note they are on Ohio now not Cedar (literally around the corner from their old signage) next to liquor store. They stopped seating an hour before closing when we came. If you have issue with different cultural values, you may get annoyed by this restaurants service. My advice, sit back and relax; the food is worth the wait and people are nicer if you smile and are kind.

Subba is back at a brand new location! Have missed having it the past couple of months as it transitioned to the new spot. Everything was simply delicious and tried a Mango Lassi for 1st time which complimented the spicey dishes so well.
