If you’re looking for a great Sandwich shop, stop going to those Quiznos, Subways type shops and head straight to this locally owned Substation III !!! Our family has been eating here for years and there’s a good reason why. There food is made fresh, sliced right in front of you. You don’t get just a few slivers of meat and cheese they give you a large amount. (The pic with the baggie is a 1/2 side of meat. I wish you could see how much meat is on that plate! It was enough for my 2 little dogs for 2 days!!)
I ordered the turkey and cheese on Pretzel bread. Their Pretzel bread is to die for, notice how much meat is piled up on the sandwich…unreal! NO OTHER sandwich shop gives you this much food for the price you pay. I also ordered the fries which i can’t pass up when I go. They have the best fries ever.
And lastly, the staff, I have never EVER had a bad experience here. Everyone who works here really seems to enjoy their job and what they do. Nowadays, that’s a rarity!
So next time you drive by Dream Street in Florence and you’re craving a sub sandwich or just want to try something different give Substation II a try. You will NOT regret it!

Delicious food and amazing service. Portions are huge, they cut the meat as you order it, they have great cookies and owner was amazing giving one to our baby for free. I do not have a single complaint. While prices are a bit more than chains, the quality of every aspect plus the portion size absolutely make up for it. Not only is the food amazing, especially the pretzel bun option, the staff make it well worth the time and money spent. I have been going to this location for 5 years and I’ve had nothing but positive experiences every time. This is by far my favorite sub place and I wish there was one closer to my home, instead of near my work.
Everything is fresh and made to order. There are speciality sauces made in house. The place is very clean and inviting. There are many options and combinations.
However, it’s difficult to veer from my favorite. Menu item #3 on a pretzel bun with mushrooms, spinach, pickles and either honey mustard or honey Dijon. If ordering the pretzel bun, understand the very big pretzels are provided as a half sandwich or whole. Unless you want two big sandwiches, go for half.

I have been doordashing for a few days and kept seeing this place ordered from so I went in there today and it was honestly the best sandwich I’ve ever had. The owner is also so nice! They cut the meat right there and all the ingredients are fresh! You should definitely try it!!!

WOW ! So Disappointing, this is what they call a Philly Steak sub now, lets get back to the full portions of meat on the subs. That’s about all I can say about today’s sandwiches from SSll, This shop has gone way down hill from when I first started coming here when Joe owned it. I don’t think that I can bring myself to visit this sandwich shop again for another bun with vegetables and a touch of meat.

The sub was awesome – I had the super on wheat, which was a great sub. I did the combo with chips and a drink. The sub was 5 stars, but the atmosphere was poor – the place could use a face lift or at least a good cleaning. The service was super disorganized and slow. It was one of those places that made you feel like they were doing you a favor serving you. The sub was awesome.
