Absolutely love this little shop in Chester! Super Friendly, sweet and professional staff, clean, and the sandwiches hit the spot! Each sandwich gets a great amount of fresh meat and the dressings they use are exceptional! Im not always a turkey lover bc some places have dry turkey but they recommended the turkey sloppy joe and it was SO GOOD!! And big! The turkey wasn’t dry at all and It ended up being my favorite sandwich. Definitelty worth checking out!

I happened to be in the neighborhood picking up an item from a seller on Facebook Marketplace and decided to search for a sandwich spot nearby. Sub Pub came up, and since I love a good sandwich, I figured I’d give it a try.
The menu had so many options that it was hard to decide, but I eventually went with a boiled ham, salami, and cheese sandwich topped with lettuce, tomato, onions, black pepper, oregano, vinegar, and mayonnaise. I actually ordered two… one with onions for my wife and one without for me.
We waited until we got home to eat. My wife took the first bite of hers, just to make sure it was good since this was our first time trying the place… she immediately said it was the best sandwich she had ever tasted. I’ve never heard her react like that to a sandwich before. When I took my first bite, I completely understood why.
Everything was excellent, but the bread really stood out. My wife mentioned the same thing, it absolutely makes the sandwich. Sub Pub is about a 50-minute drive from our home, but I already know we’ll be making that trip a few times a month just for these sandwiches.

If you go through my restaurant reviews, you’ll find me consistently complaining about pricing and portions. I work in Chester, so I’m always hunting for pocket-friendly go-to lunch spots.
Sub-Pub’s pricing is about standard for 2025, but their portions are certainly generous. I have a pretty decent appetite and am rarely able to finish an entire half sub from here. I’ve never been dissatisfied after a Sub-Pub lunch. I’ll eat 1/4 sub and save the other 1/4 for another meal. I go here at least once a week.

Grew up in the Long Valley/Chester area and now live at the Jersey Shore. I still come “back home” 8-10 times a year and make it a point to grab a sub from Sub Pub. Good sandwiches, friendly workers, clean establishment and pleasant environment. Always a joy.

I love subpub! Prices are very reasonable for how much meat they put on the sub!! Jersey mikes sandwiches are more expensive and have less meat. Great place to have a good sandwich, very clean, organized and was shocked how fast they got my sub done! Love this place!

Looked average but new to the area. Walked in to order, and while I was looking at the menu was kicked out for having my well behaved dog inside. They wouldn’t even let me order and wait outside. Will never go back even if I don’t have a dog. I get no dogs at a restaurant but it is a walk up counter and we weren’t going to eat there. So rude. The Mexican spot, Fresco on the other hand we’re delicious, accommodating and happy to take my business.

I’ve been going to Sub Pub since I was little and absolutely love their sandwiches. The homemade chili is delicious and I highly recommend the chicken salad or the hill topper, but honestly everything is really good. Best subs around!

If you’re from NY (Manhattan or Long Island), skip this place —you’ve had far better sandwiches. Not sure why there’s a crowd, but you’re better off at Jersey Mike’s.
My sister and I both got sandwiches (I went gluten-free, choosing a wrap over their GF bread), and honestly? Average — nothing special for the price. Wouldn’t go back.
