I happened upon this charming, independently-owned sub shop while heading down the street and decided to give it a try for lunch. I ordered the steak and cheese sub, and while it wasn’t quite a Philly classic, it was quite tasty and satisfying. The prices are very reasonable, especially in today’s climate of rising costs. I’m looking forward to returning to sample more of their sub combinations and to check out their breakfast offerings. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by for a bite.

This place is in a little bit of a rough neighborhood but well worth the visit. The people running this establishment are very pleasant and very likable. I’ve been going for some time now for their lunch specials it’s an amazing deal. They also do some Asian dishes that are very good as well. I love the fact it’s fast food and taste like home made.$10 for a whole sub soda and fries.

Great food, great service, and affordable prices! Small, non-descript shop just off colonial. Two South Korean ladies run it — they’re so kind and polite. I’ve added updated photos of their menu. They have breakfast but no coffee. About 10 minutes for a burger w/fries. Very clean and hygienic sun shop. Neatly prepared food. They accept credit cards.

Great prices, $11 combo with fries and a drink. They never skimp on the amount of food you get and they are always super polite. The longest I’ve waited when it’s super busy is about 10 minutes. Club sandwich, cheesesteak and the turkey and ham so far have yet to disappoint.
Skip Subway and support this local business, they deserve it.

Arrr, me hearty! Listen close to me tale,
Of Sub Island, a place where treasures prevail,
In Pine Hills, where the sun dips low and bright,
Lies a haven for subs, a pirate’s delight!
Me hearty crew and I, we set sail with glee,
For Sub Island, where the sandwiches be free,
Turkey, ham, or veggies, all me favorite fare,
Piled high on bread, with toppings beyond compare.
The staff be friendly, like a trusty first mate,
Helpin’ ye choose yer sub, with a pirate’s state,
The atmosphere be lively, like a ship in the night,
Where mateys gather ’round, to share in the delight.
So hoist the sails, me hearties, and set course with me,
For Sub Island, where the subs be waitin’ for ye,
In Pine Hills, where the treasure be found,
We’ll dine like kings, on subs renowned!
Yarrr, Sub Island be me favorite hideaway,
Where the subs be mighty, and the crew be okay,
So come aboard, me hearties, and taste the booty for yerself,
At Sub Island, where the pirate’s life be wealth!

Wish I would have taken a pic for the review! This is definitely a local GEM. Stop judging these establishments based off of where they are located, please. My sub was made fresh with fresh, quality ingredients. The bread was super soft and fresh. The fries with the combo were hot and impossible to not eat right away. It was my 1st time and I was very much satisfied. Very affordable and they also have fried rice dishes. It is an Asian owned business. 2 of the sweetest women… customer service was top notch. There’s no delivery service for this location. Thank you ladies for a pleasant eating experience. I’ll be back real soon.
