Im from NYC & this is the CLOSEST thing to a GREAT deli in the Midwest. The menu here is a bit different and less expensive than Kimball, yet still delicious. The atmosphere is just like out east & really gives it tha authentic feel, One star off for closing too soon, parking, & it could use a good deep clean. Highly recommend.

And idk veggies do have recalls on them so I would say check the recall list . I got sick last time I ate there.

My husband got subs today. The meat and cheese were cut see through and only two slices of cheese and very little meat. I couldn’t even taste the meat. I asked for the works with extra, extra, extra onions (the worker heard him, too, bc he made a joke about onion breath) and I got barely a normal amount of onions. Green peppers consisted of about 3-4 small pieces each side of the sub. These subs are by far the worst lunch I’ve had in a long time. The bread was twice as thick as the toppings and I get everything on my sandwiches.

I just sat down at work to eat my sub in a tub and realized that, the bacon is still sitting in the microwave. Did not get the chipotle ranch, oil, vinegar, onions that I asked for. Should have kept an eye on the person putting it together because this has happened before.
Today, I was even in there well before closing time and there was no one in there. Anytime after 2 p.m. will earn you dirty looks and unchecked rudeness. I have very limited time for lunch and often don’t get to sit down to eat it until I am back at the office so I am stuck with what I got. I guess at least there was no O and V to leak all over since I couldn’t have a bag.
Updated 7/10/24- another visit, another unfinished order. No chipotle mayo, oil, or vinegar, even though he asked me 3 times! Next time I will need to open it up before I leave because this is so frustrating!

They cut the meat for your sandwich as you watch, as well as slicing the cheese fresh. I had the BBQ pork special and could not think of what to have on it. The guy behind the counter said, “we have cole slaw if you’d like”–great suggestion. Soup, sandwiches, including a veggie one, were all great. Love that this is not a national chain, and that the meats are fresh cut. And everyone behind the counter was super friendly, and seemed to take an ownership in the place.

My husband and I got lunch to-go today and I really appreciate that they put all of our food in a bag, with spoons and chips for our soup and napkins without us having to ask. They really very fast and welcoming. Sometimes, it’s the little things that go a long ways.
