I look at that empty restaurant every day missing the best italian sub in richmond. The midlo one is good but doesn’t hit the same for me.

I ordered the ham and turkey sub. She ordered the hamburger with fried onions and peppers, It was so good. I ordered a hamburger and cheese with onions and mushrooms. I had to eat some before. I got back on the road to head back to Pennsylvania I wish they had one closer to where I live. I’ll definitely be coming back to Virginia for these subs

I was in the area for a meeting and was rather hungry, so I drove for a few mins looking for a decent fast food that wasn’t the “typical” fried sandwiches and such and as I drove by this parking lot, I noticed all the cars and thought it must be decent, so we stopped in.
They were very busy, but only a few people in line ahead of me and then the owner himself took our order. I asked him what’s good and he explained that his gyros and fries were amazing, so we went for them. That tzatziki was fresh and tasted so very good! The meat in the gyro was fresh and incredible and the each bite of everything was outstanding! That thing also weighed more than a pound – it was huge! The fries were excellent too, crispy, hot, and fresh!
Service was outstanding, so was the food… Highly recommend coming here!!!

Grilled chicken breast and Steak and Cheese sub are the best in RVA. Huge subs with a lot of meat and very tasty. Price is great also. Pay with cash to avoid debit fees.

Best gyro I’ve had in Virginia. Every sandwich my wife and I have ordered has been packed with meat. Highly satisfying, very flavorful, great to eat fresh or next day (sandwiches are big enough that the second half becomes tomorrow’s lunch.) Comparably lower priced than many other sandwich places in the area.

When I come here, I always get the gyro. It’s delicious. The owner remembers us every time we come in even if it’s been months since he’s seen us. You will not find better customer service than at Sub Central. The food is delicious. When we’re in the area, we stop by and get a bite. The fries are good, too!

Pretty inconspicuous looking building, and when I saw the price, I was skeptical. I thought it was a tad pricey until I saw the portions. Not only was the sub fresh and delicious, but my combo meal couldve fed 2-3. Phenomenal sandwich and great price considering what you get. Highly recommend!

Customer service is on point. The subs are phenomenal, especially the cheese steak! OMG, the grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, mayo and cheese on that toasted bun YUM YUM AND they give you PLENTY of steak, finely chopped!!!

I absolutely love getting a sub from here. The owner, Jimmy is someone I’ve watched grow up. I’ve been eating here (30+yrs) since his parents had the restaurant. He is very friendly and the food is always delicious. He knows me by my name (Renee) when I come in. We have an ongoing joke our football teams are rivalries! I love eating at South Central, 10/10 for me.

I recently started with a company as a driver across the street from this sub shop. Several people kept telling me to try it, so I did. Originally, I came in for their Philly but seen they had gyros and it was freshly cut off the rack of lamb. I had to give it a try and I’m thankful that I did. It was one of the best Ive had. Large portions, great flavor and priced well. The owner was friendly, staff was polite and the place was clean. Well worth the money and I’d highly recommend giving it a try.
