Stumpy’s is your hometown, locally owned and operated lakeside bar and grill. Stumpy’s name came from the many stumps spread across Lake Granbury. Our mission is to provide an amazing family lakeside dining experience with all the toys and shopping at hand. Kids gather handfuls of quarters to feed the fish & ducks while parents have a bite to eat. Stumpy’s has become the place were friends and families gather. We love being the destination on Lake Granbury where families come to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Super fun place! Walk in, you’re surrounded by merchandise. Yes, bits and bobs of souvenirs, clothing, boating stuff, hats, earrings, etc. But don’t be too distracted. Head up to the cashiers and place your food order after reading the chalkboard menu placed above the counter. They’ll give you a light-up buzzer and when your food is ready you pick it up at a small window. Just ask where it is if this is your first visit, or follow the others as they pick up their orders. Anyway, seating is indoors or out, but on a fine day you’ll do yourself a favor by sitting at the tables next to the water. Kids will love seeing ducks, geese, carpet, and turtles bobbing about. Great fried catfish, poboys sandwiches, tacos. Such as easy going hangout! Have fun.

The consistency and quality of the food is amazing. The staff is super friendly and works hard to keep it clean. The fried shrimp are absolutely fantastic. Stumpy’s needs to produce a MasterClass for other restaurants to understand how to do it right. Great job everyone for years and years and years. We came on a Saturday afternoon and this place was bustling! There is plenty of seating, however, and we liked the covered patio. The self-serve chips and salsa is a neat idea, but the chips were very greasy for my taste. The food was pretty decent but I wonder if it would be better on a not so busy day. I think they were really having to hustle to get all the orders out. I liked the little bakery inside for a sweet treat as well. Overall, I’d come back and try again if I’m ever back in town!

The fried fish tacos with slaw are the absolute best!! I drive from Frisco just to eat their tacos. Love the chips and salsa to snack on while waiting and the boutique is absolutely cute! Always have a great time.

We’ve been trying to eat here for years lol. Every time we drive through FTW to Glen Rose and it’s open or we try, there is zero parking. Yesterday was our day. The fries are on fire. The burgers are great. The guy bussing tables was on it. The girls taking orders were pretty polite. My only issue was, you walk into a gift shop, barely any room between the register and the door. You order right there. Then receive a buzzer and go down a hall and the restaurant is way back in the back. There’s a vegetable condiment bar. The burgers come dry and just meat and cheese. I can only imagine what that’s like on one of those busy days. There’s a whole huge hallway that would hold a line of people to order upon entry to the restaurant area for ordering at that door. I was starving, confused about the procedure and excited to try so I didn’t get pictures but the food was good.

This is our favorite place to shop eat and enjoy the ducks and geese. The grilled fish tacos are fantastic. This trip kids had popcorn shrimp basket and chicken tenders. Parking can sometimes be tight on the weekends, but weekdays is usually easy. The have the cutest clothes and earrings and home decor. We visit here often.
