Strum’s offers delicious food at a fair price. While the menu is small, it contains all the classic offerings one would expect from a quality barbecue establishment. The consistent line out the door during lunchtime is a testament to its status as a local favorite. Despite the crowd, the staff is fast and efficient at fulfilling orders.
I ordered the brisket and was initially surprised that it was not served in a single slice. However, the exceptional flavor of the meat more than compensated for this. The side dishes were just as impressive as the main course; both the potato salad and the baked beans were outstanding.
If you are in downtown Morris, IL, and are looking for great barbecue, Strum’s is a must-visit. Be sure to arrive early to secure popular items like the ribs, rib tips, and chicken before they sell out. Regardless of what you order, you are guaranteed to have a satisfying meal.

Service is wonderful, homemade everything and it’s beautifully made food. Definitely stop here any chance I can. Homemade butter is the best! The Brisket isn’t super greasy, its juicy and melts in your mouth. Brisket potato is the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life and it’s my absolute favorite!! Owner/ staff is super friendly and kind. Generous portions with whatever you order. Can’t believe this place isn’t packed every minute!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for some time now, took my wife here for lunch and the food was awesome. I got the chili with brisket and cottage pie with brisket. My wife got the loaded potato with pulled pork. Everything was homemade and fantastic, we can’t wait to go back.

Listen, I don’t like barbecue sauce and rarely go to BBQs, but I decided to give this place a try. Saying that this place is amazing is an understatement. I never knew that I would LOVE a BBQ. This is now the only BBQ place that I go to.

Wow!! Fantastic BBQ, awesome atmosphere, great staff. Small BBQ joint where everything is made fresh daily. First time here and will definitely be back. They are within walking distance of my house so now that I had my first taste it’s going to be dangerous.

Traveling through the area decided to stop before Chicago. Owner was very helpful with ordering and answering questions we had. Brisket was tender and had good flavor, coleslaw was good as well. Texas Twinkie had really good flavor, personally I would have liked it cooked more and more of a sear but that’s a personal preference. Would stop here again!

One of the best BBQ places we’ve ate at. They have a dish that is called cowtaters and it was our favorite. Just so many flavor combinations each time you took a bite. Everything was so creatively created. BBQ sauce made from scratch, the atmosphere is very homey/comfy. The owner went out of his way to embrace his creation for his business. Very friendly. Great good, great portions, great place to eat! Will be back!
