This is my second time here. I was In town for a work training function and Stroud’s was recommended by a local coworker. Both visits did not disappoint. Food was home cooked and delicious! The staff here are amazing, they all make you feel welcome and at home. Food portions were satisfying enough that both times I had to have a to go box to take home. If you are looking for a wonderful place with great food and amazing staff, then I highly recommend Stroud’s. The pan fried chicken, steak, mashed potatoes , green beans, chicken noodles soup and cinnamon rolls are all great! Thank you again!

Yea it’s 3x the price of Popeyes or KFC but it’s so worth it. The gizzards are amazing! I been coming here for a decade, it has not changed any and still as amazing as 10years ago. They are so consistent and offer great customer service experience. I wrote this review before digging in but I have no doubt the food is about to be amazing….

a bit hard to get to. missed the turn the first time. the signs help more than GPS. gravel parking lot. we felt like we walking up to someone’s house or a museum. the entrance foyer, you have a choice of left or right. left looked like a bar so we headed right. someone intercepted us and as steered through the bar to the seating area. the place wasn’t busy and she directed us to a corner by the window. she had the usual hostess attitude like she was doing us a favor. they don’t have an allergen menu so I explained them to her and we went the safest thing on the menu. KC strip steak. This was a late lunch for 2 on a friday. the wife just ordered the chicken noodle soup. it was just ok. mostly noodles and she didn’t finish them. the salad came out with cheese on it so I passed it over to the wife. the lettuce was heavy on the yellow and she didn’t finish that either. My wife was done with her food and my steak hadn’t come out but I thought that maybe they could have brought out the green beans or the cottage fries while we waited on the steak.finally, the steak was served with the green beans, white gravy, and au jus on the side. Everything was extremely bland After getting some steak sauce from the waitress, I liberally coated the steak and chips with it and chocked it down (yeah, the arrogant guy who asked how we were doing, those your are your words). Lastly, everyone we interacted gave off an attitude. the scenery was nice we saw a chapel and a screened area with picnic tables from the window.

The food, staff and atmosphere are great. I’ve never had better chicken in a restaurant (although the green beans are not my favourite style) and who else has chicken gizzards on the menu! The value for money is unbeatable. This place is really a treasure. They don’t take reservations so be prepared for a wait but the service is fast once you’re seated.

Placed a curbside order Sunday 3:30. Picked up at 4:15. Started to call number and a server came out before I could dial. He said I knew by the vehicle description. Was super nice and said there was a couple orders ahead of me but that he would bring it right out. Chicken was moist inside crispy out. As close to homemade as it can get (in KC anyway). Close to the original on 85th. Miss that place!

We have been long term customers and been coming here for almost 5 years. Normally i don’t leave a review but i felt compelled to leave one. The first time we had Strouds the food was fantastic and tasty and you got generous portions, with bottomless mashed potatoes and green beans all at an affordable price. The Original Owner was a blast and told us about about the history of the manor. HOWEVER, coming back after covid and the Original Owner passed away in 2021, the place is a train wreck. The portions are a third of the size of what you get. The prices rose from about $14 on average for a meal to $25 a meal. They changed the recipe for the breading, and gravy. I could eat a bowl of plain oatmeal and get more flavor then what they served. The Breading didn’t even have salt and pepper mixed in. The French/Cottage Fries also had 0 seasoning. The only thing they didn’t change was the Cinnamon Rolls, those are still fantastic 10/10. I would have in the past rated this 5/5 and would have said that it had the best chicken fried chicken I ever had. Now, if i went here again for free i would still ask for a refund. I could literally torch $50 and get more value out of watching it turn to ash then coming here
