Social Profile:

Strings Ramen Shop pulls a piece of Japanese Culture to Chicago. We currently have two locations, one is in the heart of Chinatown, directly across from New Chinatown Square; the other location in Lakeview. While other restaurants may serve ramen along with a number of other entrees, Strings Ramen focuses specifically on ramen. Along with ramen, Strings will also offer the appetizing oden, a Japanese winter street food. On top of tasting delightful, the ramen at Strings is also affordable but gives the option of adding more deluxe ingredients. The menu includes four types of ramen broth with a variety of high-end ingredients that are added to make the dish even more delectable. One of the major aspects of Strings is the noodles themselves.

A variety of ramen soups plus rice bowls & snacks served in low-key, stylish digs with a patio.

Good Ramen. I ordered hell Ramen level 4 was so good. It’s really spicy like I want. The soup is similar to Mala soup (spicy Chinese hotpot soup) more lighter but still spicy. On top with ground pork and crispy pork skin that I commonly found in Thai boat noodles.

This place is phenomenal. It is easily my favorite ramen shop in all of Chicago and it’s heavily carried by the broth. We tried their Hell Ramen, the Kuro Buta, and the Shio Ramen with turkey and all of them had phenomenal broths. Not too salty, not undersalty, just right. The noodles were amazingly satisfying to eat and the meats were very tender. Would be coming back here – the service was friendly and fast and the atmosphere is a little cramped but it is cozy.

Great Ramen joint worthy of competing with other Chicago places! I got the Tsukemen, which I believe is not their specialty, but quite good by American standards of ramen shops. Price was also great. I’d like to visit again and get their classic ramen to see if it’s worthy of being a 5/5

Level 2 hell Ramen is spicy but not crazy. I do like spice, but next time I’ll get the tonkatsu. The hell Ramen seems spicy just for the sake of spice.

Just went here for lunch and I love their ramen so much. Hell ramen level 1 is still too spicy for me but I ate it all because the taste was so great. You will get a huge pitcher of water for free as well

Tonkotsu ramen with pork belly was smelly and overly oily. Also they do not validate public parking tickets and there is no information about it. So I paid $8 for 35 minutes of parking.

This is my go to Ramen spot. The ramen here just hits the spot. I love their Tonkotsu Ramen. Their broth is full of Umami flavor. The servers are super attentive. You wont wait longer than 15 min for your food to be served. Also, for those who haven’t been to this location just know the place is small. Perfect for a group of 4 or smaller.

The ramen was OK. I should have ordered the Miso Ramen, rather than the Tonkatsu. Maybe next time… The dumplings were really good though!
