We had the calamari (family favorite), beet salad, boar ravioli, mushroom pizza, margarita pizza, Prosciutto pizza (personal favorite). It was a lot food and itall tasted great. The pastas and pizza dough are freshly made and you can tell they use good quality ingredients .
The service was also amazing. It felt like we were eating at a close friend’s house. We went here with my family after my daughter’s Christmas recital and glad we did. They were warm, attentive, and they made sure we were taken cared of.
It’s a great location too, right in downtown Ballard next to Bergen Park. Perfect for people watching while eating, having an intimate dinner, or having a celebration with friends and family.
We’ll definitely be back and would definitely recommend if want either good food, good service, and good location.
They also have a nice front patio right in the heart of Ballard for great people watching.
Update: we came in a second time and ordered the Nicoletta, Marinara and Boscaiola this time, along with the panna cotta and chocolate budino for dessert – highly recommend the panna cotta, marinara and nicoletta. The chili oil is also fantastic.
We casually came in for lunch on a Friday, and oh boy, is this place amazing. First off, 50% of the pizzas being vegetarian is just amazing – and these aren’t your standard cheese pizza garbage, these are LEGITIMATE options.
We tried the Angela pizza and the gnocchi between the two of us. The pizza is everything a pizza should be (I staunchly stand behind Neapolitan being the king of pizza types) – the base/dough is perfect, the flavors are all there, the toppings are generous too. Honestly, this is one of the best pizzerias in town.
The gnocchi was pretty nice too, but I’ll definitely recommend choosing the pizza over the pastas here.
When we first moved to Seattle, we were searching for a true Neapolitan Pizzeria like the one we loved back home (shout out to Via Tevere in Vancouver, BC). We gave up after eating too many soggy/burnt/crust-heavy pizzas with overly salty and poor ingredients. Strega is truly a neighborhood gem, and the owner is incredibly kind.
They also have a happy hour with half-sized pizzas and drink specials. We ordered from both menus and loved all the dishes. The owner also made our toddler a special cheese pizza to go. Just the kindest and friendliest service. Can’t wait for our next pizza night!
