Strega is famous for its dramatic decor, celebrity clientele, unmatched hospitality, and most of all, the unforgettable Italian cuisine. It’s also notorious for being one of the most difficult restaurants in Boston in which to get a seat, and has been hailed as having “Boston’s Most Coveted Table Reservation”.
Venerable, glitzy old-world Italian spot known for gangster-inspired decor & celebrity sightings.

Strega Restaurant delivered an unforgettable evening! The ambiance was cozy and elegant, with impeccable service that made us feel like VIPs. Our pasta dishes were bursting with authentic Italian flavors, perfectly paired with a robust Chianti. Highly recommend for a special night out—five stars!

Seriously this place was rhe best holiday stop to wrap up after all the hustle & bustle!! Food was a culinary experience..the “That’s Amore” dish, was a show unto itself! Wine selection wonderful! We were surprised by an amazing singer, singing Andre Bocelli songs, and creating an Italian experience we did not expect! Our service was top notch, and we will be going back and telling many others about this place! Reservations highly reomended, however we got lucky since ir was early enough in the evening, and we got seated immediately as a walk in, on a Friday night. We felt like part of an elite Italy familia! Boston has a special spot in our hearts, and Little Italy village, you’re the best!!

Had the best night celebrating my husband’s birthday at Strega. The drinks, appetizers, food, live entertainment, and vibe was fabulous!!! Waiter was fun, food came out without a long wait and hot. The only thing I would recommend is a cocktail waitress as getting a second round was a challenge. Small venue so I would say parties bigger than 8-10 is a challenge. We were 10 and tight. We will definitely be back for sure!

We sat down and it took a bit for us to get water and to place our orders. I ordered the pollo parmigiana and a blueberry cocktail (I don’t see it on the menu anymore). One thing I noticed that was a bit off putting was that they didn’t have pricing for their cocktails. Not a huge deal but still something to note. We got out food at a reasonable time, but our drinks were left sitting at the bar. I flagged down one of the wait staff and they brought it over asap and apologized for the wait. My drink was a bit strong but once it started to dilute it was very good. The chicken parmigiana was really good, very tender chicken, fresh cheese and a solid pasta sauce in my opinion, the star of the show was the pasta served with it; perfectly cooked and not a typical linguini or spaghetti. My girlfriend ordered the vodka pasta, which was fantastic, and the blackberry limoncello which was also very good. Her food was also served out of a giant cheese wheel which we thought was pretty cool. Before we got the bill, our waiter dropped off some free dessert apologizing for the service. We didn’t complain at all but did notice they were doing that for other customers too, so maybe it was an off night. All in all a good experience. With all the hiccups and it being a bit on the pricey side, we’d come back again.

The food itself is good. For apps we got the eggplant ricotta roll up. We ordered the vodka cheese wheel pasta and the mushroom sauce pasta. 3 stars is for bad service (seated 25 min after reservation) and the atmosphere is so unromantic and noisy. You cannot hear anyone talking. Don’t come if you expect them to honor your reservation!!

I honestly don’t understand the negative reviews. Our waiter was old school, attentive without being overbearing. Great bottle of Barolo, octopus starter was super tender and was great with the pesto. I had the veal chop parmigiana, which had perfectly crispy breading, a great sauce-cheese ratio, and was so tender I could cut it with a fork. I was surprised how busy it was at 7pm on a Tuesday..it was loud, but I sort of expect that in the North End. It also tells me they’re popular enough they don’t need to worry about 1 star reviews

i want to first say that the hostess and waiters were doing the best they could given the crazy atmosphere of the restaurant. they were kind and attentive throughout.
that being said:
we made a reservation at 7 pm and then had to continue waiting until 7:20 to get our seat. i get it, scheduling issues happen, and the hostess was very apologetic about it so we told her not to worry … and then we finally get into the restaurant and they are BLASTING music. im talking wall-shaking levels of loud – the volume and track choice were both better suited for a nightclub.
i order a seafood risotto, my girlfriend gets gnocchi, and my friends get ravioli and arugula. the ravioli and arugula were overpriced, but allegedly good. we also ordered shirley temples for the table, which was the best thing of the entire night (they were PERFECT and fairly priced).
the risotto arrived with three ROTTEN mussels. as someone who loves seafood, i knew they were visibly stringy and smelled bad; someone with less experience could have eaten them and potentially gotten food poisoning. yikes. UNACCEPTABLE for a $40 dish. at least there was plenty of other seafood to make up for it.
the gnocchi was RAW in the center. some pieces were doughier and chewier than others. besides that, it was alright and at least completely edible.
anyway, don’t go here if you want a nice fancy restaurant experience.

Unbelievable food and service. We went with a work party of nine people , and we were taken care of from the moment we walked in.

If you can get a table, you will never forget it. Where else can you dine with a prime minister of a foreign country….. what an amazing experience, and the waiter was beyond authentic Italian. Food was the best I’ve ever had on Hanover St. Period.
