Our recent dinner at Streetside Seafood in downtown Birmingham was an unforgettable experience! Nestled on Pierce Street, this intimate spot boasts a cozy, nautical-inspired vibe with exposed brick, soft lighting, and a welcoming bar area, perfect for a romantic evening or special night out. It’s upscale yet relaxed, making it feel like a hidden treasure in the heart of the city.
For my entree, I chose the Pepper Crusted Filet Mignon with Lobster Tail, and it was sheer perfection! The filet was incredibly tender, with a bold pepper crust and rich port wine mushroom demi-glace, served alongside Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. The added lobster tail was succulent and buttery, creating an indulgent surf-and-turf combination that highlighted the freshness and quality of their ingredients. My partner opted for the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes as her main dish, and they were outstanding, packed with sweet, lump crab meat, lightly breaded for a crispy exterior, and served with house-made tartar sauce and fresh sides. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying, without any unnecessary fillers.
The service truly made the evening special; our waitress Chris was amazing! She was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu. Her warm personality and efficiency made us feel welcomed and cared for throughout.
While prices are on the premium side, the exceptional quality, portions, and overall experience make it well worth it.

Love streetside seafood, one of our favorites places to eat . Tonight my husband said; “I’m going to be adventurous and try the shrimp/lobster burger”… boy was it fabulous.
We always get the best crab cakes and I always get the crab/cucumber soup in the summer. So good!

Found this place on a whim and couldn’t be happier we did. High quality food that still has a laid back atmosphere in a nice part of town…no stuffiness of a higher end steak house at all (very refreshing). Great menu that has some non-seafood options if you’re just not wanting seafood. Probably the best crab cakes we’ve every had (we ordered a second round of those). Highly recommended and we will absolutely be back.

From the moment we sat down, our experience was elevated by the incredible service from our waitress, Julia — truly one of the best servers we’ve ever had. She went completely above and beyond, was attentive without being overbearing, and made the entire evening feel effortless and special.
She even recommended and helped create a drink that honestly deserves to be named after her — “The Julia.” Huge shoutout as well to Jordan, the bartender, who absolutely nailed it. The drink was perfection.
It’s rare to come across service this genuine and exceptional these days, and Julia truly exemplifies what outstanding hospitality should look like. Because of her alone, we will absolutely be back — and asking for her every time.
On top of all of that, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the entire experience exceeded expectations. We couldn’t recommend Streetside Seafood more!

My wife and I had an amazing experience! It was our first time dining here and we will definitely be back. The service was awesome and the food was fantastic. My wife got the swordfish tacos and I had the shrimp linguine pasta and a cup of New England clam chowder. We also had the Greek calamari as an appetizer, which was also very good. I really liked the relaxed pace in which the courses came out as well as the staff working like a team to make sure the service was excellent.

I had a really nice meal here with my parents celebrating my mom’s birthday last weekend. I’m still thinking about how delicious my salmon salad was…we had east coast oysters too and having lived in Maine for years I can assure you these are the best I’ve had outside of New England…so fresh and delicious and the house Mignonette is wonderful. Tom and Julia were excellent servers, gave great recommendations, prompt professional and friendly service and they checked in often. For a great, authentic seafood experience I highly recommend streetside seafood.

We had been dreaming of coming here with our pup, yes, their outdoor seating is pet friendly . Staff were very attentive and kind. They even turned on the heaters for us without us asking, which we greatly appreciated as it was a very windy and cold day. The lobster and shrimp were a little overlooked for my taste, but the overall was fantastic. Would love to go back!

Very fresh seafood, the shrimp cocktail and crab claws were delicious. Their wine and alcohol selection were very nice. The waitor was extremely accommodating. The only complaint is that the green beans and potatoes served with the lobster were bland, seemingly just boiled and salted. A bit disappointing for one of the most expensive dishes on the menu (the lobster itself was great).

Truly delicious and worth the wait. Perfect location. The dark chocolate creme brulee is out of this world. We had one roll left and I asked for it to be boxed with my salad. I just put the left overs in the fridge and saw that instead of just the one, I received three rolls in their own container. Beautiful touch and service. Thank you!

I went for the first time to Streetside Seafood on Saturday wanting to try something new as Ive heard it’s one of the best seafood restaurants In Birmingham. We didn’t have a reservation so we waited about 30 minutes which wasn’t so bad.
The food was okay, nothing out of the ordinary, in fact we felt like it needed more seasoning & flavor. We got the blackened fish tacos. They were on the sweet side with a hint of smokiness. We also got the Ruby Trout Dinner special (comes with cauliflower, Zucchini, white sauce and shallots). The fish was good, however the sauce and veggies needed more seasoning. For appetizers, we got the buffalo shrimp which was delicious!
I would recommend this place for the experience being in Birmingham..
