I enjoy having breakfast here with family and friends. I believe it is locally owned and the owner is so sweet and always walks around checking on the customers and helping her staff. One of their current specials (Nov. ’22) is Banana Foster French Toast. I waited a whole week before coming back for some more. It is delicious!!!!

6/24/23 Still coming back for the Banana Foster French Toast. Service is always wonderful and the patio was a great place to sit with the fan gently blowing the breeze our way.

Love to fine good local eateries, especially when the owner/ cook likes to check on how the service/ food is.

We of course picked this place because of the name, I Love Dogs! We got a Bbq/ burger, Ruben, patty melt and a BLT. The food was good, my bacon was a bit undercooked and my burger overcooked but it still had some good flavor. The fries and rings were both homemade and fanatics, rings would have been better hot.

We also had to try desert after hearing what they had and the owner was the baker. We had the blueberry pie, cinnamon roll and chocolate cookie dough. They were all amazing, definitely worth all the extra calories. Absolutely worth the drive!

I ordered take out recently with door dash for an order from Stray Dog Cafe & let me tell you , it did not disappoint. The ones we ordered were the rueben dog , bird dog , mac and cheese dog , and the fried bacon wrapped dog. All of them were fantastic , and the fries were great as well. I know they serve burgers and other menu items as well ! I would say these hot dogs are on the list of some of the best I’ve ever had , my favorite was the mac and cheese dog personally! I also noticed they offer keto bread for keto followers! We will definetly be back to try more sometime !

Great greasy spoon type of diner. Tasty menu items, all seemingly home made. Some might not enjoy a slightly longer wait for a table or food delivery, but it’s well worth the time in my opinion.

It’s right on 39th expressway in a shopping center I’ve passed it so many times do I decided to stop and try it and I’m glad I did. The people were very nice, the place is kind of old looking but kept up really good and a lot of choices on the menu breakfast, lunch and dinner and plenty of dessert choices. I tried the hot dog Mac which is hot dog with chili topped with Mac n cheese and a side of sweet potato fries which was a first for me and it was pretty good I will definitely be going back.

About 9.00 for the chili cheese hot dog and onion rings with a drink. It was good, but if you had not served the popcorn before, we would have left hungry, and I would have considered this overpriced.

Food was awful, they forgot my daughter’s plate, so she didn’t even get to eat with the family, but she wasn’t missing anything. Hands down THE WORST biscuits & gravy I’ve ever had! Staff was not friendly when confronted about missing meal, missing toast, husband had to ask for a glass of water 4 times before he actually got one!

An Unforgettable First Bite at Stray Dog Take Out!
My first experience with Stray Dog Take Out was absolutely phenomenal, a solid 10 out of 10, and it won’t be my last! I honestly can’t thank them enough for their incredible kindness and the simply delicious food.
I completely spaced on the pickup time, and by the time I called, it was a little past 6 PM. I was fully expecting to just be out of luck, but to my surprise, the person who answered the phone was incredibly understanding. They told me they’d held onto my Family-sized Barbecue Pork Tenderloin meal and were more than happy to stay open a few extra minutes just for me to swing by. That kind of customer service is rare and truly made my day.
When I arrived, my order was hot, ready, and waiting. The barbecue pork tenderloin was exquisite – tender, flavorful, and perfectly basted with their special sauce. It was clear the brining and seasoning paid off. And those cheesy potatoes? Absolute comfort food perfection. Paired with a soft roll, it was the ideal hassle-free, mouth-watering dinner.
But let’s talk about the banana pudding. Oh my goodness. I’ve had banana pudding countless times, but Stray Dog’s version? It was hands down the best I have ever tasted. Creamy, perfectly sweet, and just the right amount of banana and wafers. It was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal.
Stray Dog Take Out truly delivers on their promise of making dinner easy and delicious. Their food is top-notch, and their customer service goes above and beyond. We will absolutely be back for more!

Raegan and I were driving along 39th this afternoon, saw the Stray Dog, and decided to try it. Pretty darn good!

I had a lunch special, hamburger steak (wrapped in bacon, mmmm) with mashed potatoes. It was good beef, cooked well done (I prefer medium well, but it was still juicy), and with some actual potato mashed potatoes. I usually would have asked for some more gravy, but there was enough. It was a very tasty meal. I got a cup of chili for a second side. It was good, but it was more of the Cincinnati-style chili that gets poured over spaghetti. It had no heat, and had a bit more ketchup or tomato paste flavor than the Texas style I like best, but it was, again, very good.

Raegan had a BLT, which she had been craving, and liked it a lot.

Afterward we shared some of the best chocolate pie we’ve had in a while.

Everyone was friendly, the food was very good. It’s unfortunately on the other side of town from where we live, but when we are in the area again we’ll go back, there are other good looking options on the menu.
