10/10 — The food here is amazing and the service is truly phenomenal. Everyone is so sweet and welcoming. A special thank-you to Chelsea and her sister — both were incredibly kind and made sure our entire group was taken care of. Highly recommend!

They have the best plate lunches in town! Huge portions, tons of side options. I always have to get a couple slices of pie to go. Everything is delicious. Quick friendly service.
I brought a friend that has 2 little ones for a lunch date. The baby was tired and fussy. We were sitting near the kitchen. I guess one of the employees noticed the moms struggle to get the baby to eat. Y’all! He was so kind and brought her some cut up strawberries with cream for the baby. What a random act of kindness! Good people

I think I might have found my new favorite breakfast place. The food is hot, delicious, and cooked perfectly. Chelsea was an amazing waitress. Would go back just based on her customer service. All of the staff works together flawlessly. Everyone pitches in to take care of all the customer needs. You get to watch the cooks prepare the food and they move with a speed that is very impressive. THANK YOU Strawns and Chelsea for the great meal.

If you’re looking for something fancy, this may not be for you. But if you’re looking for a good breakfast and amazing service try them out. It’s like an old school diner. We were able to sit ourselves, the service was fast and the coffee was good ! The food came out fast as well. We got our check quickly, and you pay up front. We will definitely be back for breakfast again.

Traveling to Margaritaville in Bossier City La, we went by Strawn’s Eat Shop. We enjoyed a delightful breakfast at a nostalgic diner. The murals on the wall caught our attention and made for great conversation. The food was tasty and we felt like regulars even though it was our first time eating there. When in the Shreveport LA area make a point to stop in Strawn’s, you’ll be glad you did.

Our group home bought our clients in for the lunch special. We had googled the prices. Which stated $12 for lunch special. We got in there and menu price had changed. Group homes are on limited budget so we asked the owner did she give a group discount or senior discount. She stated her prices are set. The waitress stated she didn’t make the prices. No one came over to see if we needed anything… it was like they didn’t want the disabled citizens in their establishment. This was not our first time here. But was not treated like this on our last visit. We ended up paying $14.78 per plate. Everything was jammed on what looked like a school cafeteria plate… salad with dressing blended in with everything. Clients wanted Fish so it was a extra $2.75 for fries… so they ended up with rice gravy and Fish this was not a good combination….we understand food is expensive but really??? She at least could have gave a free drink or given the seniors a discount….but mainly the service was not good.

Nice little diner serving typical Americana comfort foods. We had breakfast a little late so the food was a little cold when we got it and the hash browns (home fries) were under and cold. Service was outstanding and we even tried the famous Ice Box Pie. We’d go back again.

Founded in 1944. The omelet is huge and has plenty of flavor, maybe one of the best omelets I’ve had. Biscuits with gravy were big, not too much suasage flavor in the gravy, which I appreciated. The strawberry icebox pie was absolutely amazing and a must-have. I will probably get this pie every time I come. If you love strawberry shortcake, then you’ll love this. Atmosphere was busy and set up like an old diner. (Clearly the spot in town). ONLY ONE draw back, the cook was yelling at the waiters, one of the waiters yelled back that she was with a customer. The cook (continued) on for about 5 minutes talking/yelling to himself (very loudly). A couple of people around me noted he (did this last time). But the food was good enough to go back, and we will. Wish the cook would settle down, definitely messed with the vibe a bit. All in all it was a good experience. Just a bit of drama.

LC Container loves to come here every time we pass through Shreveport. We love the pies as well as the plate lunches and burgers. Everything on their menu is great and we can easily see why it was listed in southern living magazine, and on Oprah‘s places to try. We’re on the way to see Family or for Buisness. We always make a point of stopping here, as it is a staple for Shreveport. Can’t say enough about the staff and the service that we get every time we come in here from breakfast to lunch to dinner this place is amazing

I was visiting a friend over Christmas, and the day after, a group of us went to Strawn’s for breakfast. Though I read a few negative reviews, I was eager to see if my friend’s positive review as a local was the truth. Unfortunately, it was not. The pancakes were cold, potatoes greasy and bland, and the eggs had no flavor. For the “Hungry Man” breakfast and coffee I paid $20! It was the worst, most expensive breakfast I’d ever had. I am sure they stay busy because of their name and lasting legacy in the community, the quality of the food I’m sure was better in years past, but in 2025, I would not recommend Strawn…overpriced and low quality. Try Cracker Barrel for a quality, budget friendly breakfast!
