Their crust is very light and airy and cooked well. I personally feel the tomato sauce could have been a bit sweeter. While this is slightly preference, traditionally pizza sauce is sweeter than say a marinara, which this tasted closer to.
Put this food in a more homey, traditional atmosphere and I think it would trick the taste buds into appreciating it more, because this food was genuinely very good and stands out amongst Chicago pizza.
Unfortunately, it is a bit expensive, especially for a no-service style restaurant

This place has been on my list for a very long time. The place is cozy and cute. We ordered two pizzas , one with pistachio pesto and the other is their Margherita pizza. The service was quick and the staffs were good. Coming to the taste, loved how light the bread was, however it was burnt throughout. Couldn’t enjoy the bread because of the burnt base and it tasted bitter. Their pistachio pesto was out of the world. Had it not been burnt, I would have really loved the place

This small, high quality Chicago pizzaria at 545 W. Diversey Parkway in Lincoln Park is outstanding! We had the soppressata and pistachina. Try it and you’ll be glad you did.

I randomly chose this restaurant because the pictures and reviews were great. I came in with two friends pretty late and was scared that they might not serve us since they were closing in about 30min when we got there. We ordered and ate peacefully, they didn’t tell or hint at us to leave even though we stayed a few minutes after closing time. Obviously everyone wants to go home!! But I really just appreciated that, we were starving and this was one of the places that was still open. I felt welcome and the employees were really sweet. Now let me get into the food. I tried to find this exact type or dough EVERYWHERE. A lot of places market their dough to be what this restaurant is and end up being mediocre… but this one was just what I was looking for. Light thin dough, and crispy crust, it tasted so fresh! I also loved the pesto dipping sauce and the hot honey was also the perfect ratio of sweet and spicy. I enjoyed cutting my own pizza, I think it’s a fair price for the portion as well. I would definitely be back! It’s a tiny place though be prepared!

I had a wonderful time at Strapoli, I came here with the Italian Department at my uni and we were able to learn the story about both Strapoli and the ingredients.
The pizzas are Neapolitan-style style and they are literally to die for. While there may be wait times when there is a crowd, pizzas only take a few minutes to be prepared and baked.
I was pleasantly surprised by the pineapple on pizza, I don’t usually enjoy Hawaiian style but they soak the pineapple in a secret syrup and it’s DELICIOUS.
The space is quite small with mostly 2 person seating, a counter and a small group table. You order though a qr code and your pizza gets brought to your table.
Had an awesome experiance and will definitely be comming back!

I’m born and raised in Ischia (island off the coast of Napoli, in Italy). I now live in the US, visited Chicago recently, as I was shooting a YouTube vlog about pizza in big American cities. THIS PLACE IS IT. Wonderful warm, welcoming and kind Venezuelan family, making one of the best NAPOLI-style pizzas I’ve ever had in my life. You will not find many places in the US that make this level of Napoli-style pizza. Top quality imported ingredients, great final product, kind owners, affordable prices (compared to how terribly the Italian brand is usually over-priced in the US). Must try!!

As an Italian girl who loves pizza, I would recommend this place for anyone who loves the real Italian pizza.

Welcome to Roscoe Village Strapoli Pizzeria. We happened to stop by on their first night of business and they did a great job. Of course there were some kinks, which I’m sure will be worked out quickly. This quaint spot (formerly Cuban 312) is a sweet respite in the neighborhood with its cozy, warm and nicely decorated dining area. Strapoli serves Neapolitan styled pizza, which means it’s soft and chewy for the most part; you won’t find a crispy crust and you most definitely need to favor this sort of pizza pie (which it isn’t necessarily for me.) But that being said, the fact that they have plant-based cheese option is a huge plus in my book. We did talk to our server about the future possibility of offering a gluten free crust as that seems like a big issue for many people these days. The service was spot on and the atmosphere was so friendly. With Strapoli being what will be 3 pizza places on Roscoe Street (vs none just a few months ago,) I hope they all find their customer base and thrive in their new locations. Sorry no pics. Next tune!

Honestly, best pizza in Lincoln Park area! I’ve tried every and each of them but this is the best Neapolitan pizza! Chef makes it from scratch and the dough is so soft, flavorful, and perfectly crisp on the edges. Pistachina is must!

I just noticed this place last week and loved the atmosphere and the pictures of the food. First time here and got the pistacho pizza. What an amazing pizza! And good price for its size and quality. The dough was very flavorful with a nice texture. The pesto and pistacho went well with the mozzarella and mushrooms. Certainly helped by high quality ingredients. Will be back again.
I’m a big guy and was very hungry but still only able to eat 3/4 the pizza. On a normal day or for the average person, half a pizza is probably good enough
Edit: I’ve come back a few times. Always
Great. Hope the owners open up more places because they got something great going here
