★★★★★ A Confident, Elevated Evening

From the moment I stepped through the door, the restaurant’s signature blend of atmosphere and design immediately reaffirmed why I’ve always loved this space. The hostess—young, dark-haired, and absolutely exceptional—set the tone with a warm welcome and a level of professionalism that made the entire front-of-house team quite literally snap to attention the moment I rounded the corner. It was a masterclass in hospitality.

Cocktails and wine service were on point. We opened with an Old Fashioned and a Lemon Drop—both balanced and well executed—and later paired dinner with two glasses of Honig Sauvignon Blanc, which complemented our selections beautifully.

For starters, we opted for the Caesar salad and the Ahi tuna. The Caesar arrived as a surprisingly generous portion—good, though large enough to share. The Ahi tuna, however, was plated with genuine artistry: perfectly seared slices arranged over a nostalgic, black-board-eraser–shaped bed of rice, all resting atop bok choy. Very well done. While it didn’t quite eclipse my benchmark from the long-closed Tin Fish in Mokena, IL—where the tuna was served unsliced like a filet mignon alongside those unforgettable, oven-blasted smashed potatoes—it was still a standout dish.

The only culinary miss for me was the bread service. The rolls skewed more toward donut territory than fresh, savory table bread.

Service pacing was efficient, though I experienced a small moment of disconnect. I arrived about ten minutes ahead of my wife and was seated promptly—within three minutes of checking in. A server approached shortly after to introduce herself and offer to get our drinks, noting that our actual server would be someone else. While I appreciate the good intentions, I personally prefer building rapport directly with the server who will be taking care of us for the evening. It helps create continuity and a more seamless dining experience.

Overall, the evening delivered strong hospitality, thoughtful plating, and a warm, polished ambiance. With a few refinements, this spot has all the right ingredients to reach the next tier of dining excellence.

I included both pictures of the Ahi Tuna entrees mentioned in the review.

We’ve eaten at Stoney River Restaurant & Grill several times, and once again, the food absolutely delivered. We had a party of five, and all of us ordered the 22 oz ribeye steak—every single one was cooked beautifully and did not disappoint. Consistently excellent food is one of the reasons we keep coming back.

The service was also great. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and quick, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Before coming in, we specifically called ahead to ask whether the Super Bowl would be playing, and we were told yes. While we were eating and watching the halftime show, the TV was suddenly changed to another channel. When I asked our waitress about it, she kindly went to see if it could be switched back. Unfortunately, she was told that a private party in another room wanted that channel.

That decision was very disappointing and, frankly, unfair—especially since we confirmed ahead of time that the game would be on. This reflects poorly on the restaurant’s management or whoever made that call, and it left a sour note on what was otherwise a great evening.

Thankfully, we live close by and were able to head home and watch the rest of the game. The food and service were excellent as always, but this situation was a real letdown and something management should seriously reconsider in the future.

The food was phenomenal. I had the salmon with cremed spinach and sautéed broccoli with the develed egg for an appetizer. Oh my God, everything on my plate was cooked to perfection. My server was exceptional. She was friendly and professional. I cannot remember her name but, my wife came and sat with me from the party in the private room and she came over ready to take her order. The atmosphere was calming, everyone was so nice and helpful. From the hostesses to the servers. We need yall in Augusta, GA. Especially during Master’s Week while half of the world is watching the golfers play in The Master’s Tournament at the Augusta National, yall would be the talk of the city.

I’m a big fan of Stoney River, both the Franklin and Nashville locations are excellent.
High end quality food and service without the “break the bank” check at the end of the meal. I’ve had several appetizers, entrees and desserts and never had a bad dish.
The calamari, deviled eggs and lobster bisque are great starters. The coffee cured filet is top notch.
Service is always attentive and knowledgeable. Parking is much more readily available in Franklin over Nashville.
We’ll definitely be back.

We came here last night for my brothers birthday dinner. The service was excellent, from the hostesses, to our server. The chips in the spinach dip were fresh and the dip was rich with spinach and cheese. My fiancés salmon was very fresh and perfectly cooked. The deviled eggs were excellent, unique taste compared to the ones I’ve had but in the best way. My brother loved his food, the steak was cooked to the temperature he asked for and the potato was tasty as well.

This is one of our favorite steak houses! We went for our 19th wedding anniversary and everything was amazing! We ordered rib eyes, asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes with key lime pie for desert. And our drinks were perfect. You must go here for your next special event.
