My Fiancé and I celebrated our one year anniversary here and it was absolutely amazing. The staff had decorated the table with rose pedals, candles and a personal card ,signed by all of the staff. Our waiter Adrian was awesome! Our service and food were fabulous. The staff made our anniversary even more special. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This place has been my favorite restaurant since I was a child and what a perfect place to get proposed to as well! Ryan is by far, THE BEST! He is amazing at what he does, his customer service skills, his genuine kindness and overall just the way he manages the place is incredible. ❤️ the host staff is wonderful and the servers (special shout out to Peyton, Marina, and Adam) all do a phenomenal job! My boyfriend proposed there to me and hilariously enough, they had run out of Champagne! BUT…Ryan surprised us by going out to the store and buying us a whole bottle!!! He did a toast with us and everything, he always takes time to talk to us as does every member of staff! What an amazing evening, and every time we go, the team there is spectacular in everything they do and we can’t praise the food enough!

First experience here. While the food was cooked right and good. It was 12:30 in the afternoon with just a dozen or so customers and service was slow. It took 5 minutes for a simple glass of tea. The food took much longer than expected too. Unsure what the case would have been during a busy period. May try again, always willing to give a second chance.

Normally, my experience here is excellent, but this afternoon, on 2/22/2026, my family and I had a disappointing dinner experience. Although the waitress was pleasant and apologetic when our food arrived wrong, the manager, Tamara Gold, was unpleasant and unprofessional. She made a comment about never having the item on the menu, which wasn’t true, as I’ve had it before. Her rudeness and lack of apology were off-putting. The waitress apologized for the manager’s behavior, explaining she was having a tough day after breaking her finger. However, that excuse only made things worse, as we were just customers looking to enjoy our meal. We didn’t deserve to be insulted, and someone with that attitude shouldn’t be a manager. She failed to demonstrate leadership, and I’m shocked by this experience. To make matters worse, she never apologized and instead told the waitress to offer us free dessert and send us on our way.

Adrian was an excellent server! Now, food was great, I got the prime rib dip anna it was the best I’ve had in years. Meat was perfect, no chewy or fatty bites, bread was soft and not too thick, horseradish was delicious. Husband got the steak medallions surf and turf, he wished he got more shrimp they were so good. Portion sizes are a little small for the man but everyone cleaned their plates and left full and happy. Will go back for sure.

Visited for dinner. No wait on a Friday. Beautiful building and pleasant atmosphere, there is an outdoor seating area as well and indoors they have a private event area for min. 12. There is a huge wine/drink menu, bar menu is limited and not a-lot of dinner options. We had prime rib dip and tuna poke. Food was good, presented beautifully. Chicken wings were delicious as appetizer. I did not take pictures but we got the chocolate bread pudding to go. Delicious and huge serving. Overall a good dining experience. Server was good. I would return again. Appetizer, dinner, dessert for 2 was about $80.

My birthday choice was Stonewood. I hadn’t been there in over a year. Our foursome enjoyed the atmosphere and our wonderful waitress Mia was assume. And the food was great. We will all be returning to Stonewood again soon for a great night out for dinner!

First time at this location. We had 3 in our party, with a 5:30pm confirmed reservation on Christmas Eve. My wife is in a wheelchair temporarily, and we were brought to a booth, which wouldn’t work due to my wife’s broken leg. We asked for a table, as there were several 4 top tables and some booth on one side, 2 chairs on the other options that would have worked as well. Instead, we were brought back to this private room, where another group was having a Christmas Eve dinner party with 10 or so people. We felt like we were invading their private party. The ambiance of the room was not like the main dining area, (it was like an old wood paneled room with windows), that combined with being given this back room table where it was just us and this private party, we asked if we could sit in the main dining room which we were told there were no tables even though there clearly were. I asked to speak with the manager, whose name is Ryan, who said he was the main GM. When I asked if we could be moved to another table in the main dining area or bar area, instead of someone else’s private party room, he said he could not accommodate us. He said that all the tables were “assigned”, and unless we could order eat and finish in 50 minutes, there were no tables available (even though we had a 5:30pm reservation through Open Table). He tried to tell me that when you make a reservation at his restaurant, that you actually are assigned a table at the reservation time, and it can’t be changed. He also said we should have requested in the notes in the reservation a 4 top table if that’s what we needed. It was clear that Ryan didn’t want to accommodate my wife and her wheelchair and we decided to leave, instead of spending Christmas Eve at this terrible, impersonal table they wanted to give us. I can’t express how disappointed we are in Ryan and Stonewood Grill and Tavern at UTC Sarasota. I will also be sending an email to their Corporate in JAX.

Is the food here worth the money?
Main Answer: Absolutely! I would like to make it clear of that anything that is criticized in this review still deserves five stars because regardless of my preference, the service, atmosphere, food and everything all together deserves more than five stars.
Service:
William, the server, made this visit an amazing visit and just wow! This gentleman was fantastic. If you decide to visit, ask if William is serving. I haven’t had service like that at a restaurant in a very long time. Now, given that they were very slow and not busy at all, I understand the extra special service. However, he still did an amazing job that just was the icing on the cake.
Food:
I had a small side salad for which they made special for us with spinach leaves, red onions, croutons, cherry tomatoes, cut cucumbers and no dressing. This salad was fantastic. The onions were cut perfectly. The care that was taken for the cucumbers was absolutely outstanding. Not one peace of spinach lettuce was wilted. This salad is the salad other salad dream about becoming.
My guest had a cheeseburger. It was cooked to perfection. He was very happy with it.
I had both a French dip which was absolutely delicious. I will say that I asked for provolone cheese and I received Swiss cheese but that didn’t stop the French dip from being delicious. I also had steamed broccoli with no butter. That was cooked perfectly.
Now, the next part. The potatoes. The potatoes were way over whipped. You could tell that they were cooked too long. It didn’t stop the taste from being very good but they were Pasty and not very visually appealing.
Additionally, I was still hungry after the French dip so I ordered a deconstructed chicken pot pie. That meal came out within 2 minutes of ordering it and was amazingly fast. It, too, was absolutely delightful.
We ordered pretzel bread. These pretzels were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Now here, I would have hoped that William, our server, would have picked up the hint that I didn’t want any oil or butter on them when I specifically asked for none on my food but unfortunately that was not the case. So they did come with butter around the pretzels and salt but I would have preferred them with no butter or salt on the pretzels. I don’t quite what the blame for that on William since I didn’t ask if they had oil or salt on them but that information was not offered either. That did not stop them from being absolutely fantastic.
Bathrooms:
It was the end of the night and the bathrooms were still clean as can be. There was no toilet paper all over the floor or towels all over the floor. The garbage was empty. The counters were clean and not full of water or soap everywhere. This was a bathroom where the employees and management cares about their customers.

UPDATE: We just went again today and the food was still wonderful. The staff are very kind and helpful too. I had the French Dip Sandwich and my husband had the grilled cheeseburger and both were wonderful. We also had the sweet potato fries and they were cooked perfectly.
We went there for a seminar luncheon but we had a choice of food. I ordered the Bistro Burger and it was very juicy and tasty. The sourdough bread it was on was also great except I’d prefer if it didn’t have so much butter/ oil on it, it was greasier than I prefer but otherwise it was awesome.
