This is my new favorite place to eat in Tulsa. Aubrey makes our experience exceptional. This place has a seasonal menu that never disappoints. And the truffle fries are so good! Also has a market next door to buy meats and ingredients that the restaurant uses. Good food and atmosphere. I would recommend making a reservation for dinner. You will not regret spending an evening here.

We had a wonderful experience here. Every dish was fantastic. Focaccia with Burrata Cheese, Tomato Bisque, Tom Kha Seafood and Salmon dishes were all some of the most delicious dishes we have had in a while.
Definitely 1st class food and my thanks to the chef. Our server was fantastic. Even though she was busy, she did a great job tending to us.
Highly recommend this restaurant. Disregard negative reviews

Stopped in for a starter and dessert for lunch. Really tasty. Fast service, super friendly even though I was quite dressed down. Would definitely go back for a fancy dinner sometime.
Probably would not bring a large group, it’s a little cramped inside, but perfect for a couple or 4 looking for a fancy spot.

I planned to go to this restaurant for the first time for a nice date night on a Saturday night. Their website states that they are open until 11:00pm. We arrived a bit after 9:00, and the restaurant was full, but the doors were locked. We knocked on the door to ask the hostess if they were closed for a private party or something. She said that their kitchen is already closed and her manager has her lock the doors around 9:00pm.
So they lock up and turn away customers a full 2 hours before close?? This is just bad business. It gives the impression that you don’t want my patronage and that your staff doesn’t want to work until the end of their shift. When I worked in restaurants, it was normal and expected to work until midnight or so on the weekend. We took our business to a more welcoming restaurant that is clear about their hours and not afraid of late night dining on a Saturday night in a city. I suggest you don’t say you are open until 11:00 if you are not.

A friend and I stopped in during the week for lunch, didn’t have a reservation but was seated right away when the doors opened. The food as always on point. Our waitress was attentive. My only complaint if you could call it one was the fact the upper seating area doesn’t have window blinds or coverings of some kind for the early bright sun.

When I visit Utica Square, Stonehorse is always a great place to eat, except this last Saturday… My new wife and her children had never been to Stonehorse and I wanted to share their food with her and her kids. We were seated right away and brought water. A gentleman came to our table after a longer than normal wait and announced he was our waiter and took our drink order. We had at least 30 min to look over the menu before he even arrived. We were ready to order, but he only took the Bar order. When he delivered the drinks, he said he would be right back. We waited for another 30 minutes as he took drinks to 4 other tables, who had been seated after we had been seated. I finally asked one of the other waitresses if we could order. I was finally introduced to our own waitresses who didn’t even know we were her table to wait on. So we’re now at about hour sitting at a table and we have yet to place our order. The waitress took our order and we were a little dismayed by the wait, but we were looking forward to the meal. After a moderate wait I was brought my salad and the family had an appetizer. After we finished our appetizers, we waited another 45 minutes and we had still not recieved our main meals. At least 4 tables who had been seated after us had been served and had LEFT THE RESTAURANT, and we had not even seen a single Entrée. We finally just asked the waitress to bring us a check for what we had been served. They were making excuses and saying the food was about to be plated. We had suffered enough of their ineptitude and we stood up to leave. Before we could do so, another waitress came to our table trying to make excuses and then a third waitress joined in to harass me and my family for not staying for the food and leaving. I was adamant and I was starting to feel attacked, three waitresses were at our table, and defensive. My wife even jumped in to rescue me from their harangment. Finally after some heated words from their staff, I believe it was a manager who finally comp’ed us for the whole meal. (One salad and a basket of French Fries).
Needless to say, my wife and I will never be returning to the Stonehorse for a meal. I think a public acknowledgement and apologies are in order for their lack of service and harassment after the fact. Very poor Stonehorse Cafe, very very poor.

Please note: There are a lot of unethical and legal issues concerning this restaurant at this time.
Final Score: 62/100; Average
Intro:
Stonehorse Cafe in Tulsa’s Utica Square epitomizes the Oklahoma dining trend where quantity often overshadows quality. Owned by Chef Tim Inman, this well-known establishment has been a Tulsa institution for years.
The ambiance at Stonehorse Cafe was confusing and slightly uncomfortable. Upon entering, I was greeted by a mix of seafood aroma, char, and an unidentifiable scent. The dark decor, close-set tables, and loud environment detracted from the dining experience. The restaurant was cold enough to give me goosebumps that lingered throughout much of the meal. The vibe felt confusing, with dark tones, a dark carpeted floor, black walls, and some off-white accents.
Average service. While the initial enthusiasm was notable, service gaps became evident as the evening progressed. Our party felt neglected at times, despite the restaurant being less than half full. Some dishes were explained in detail, while others were not.
Food:
Stonehorse’s extensive menu includes nearly 50 offerings. We opted for a blind tasting:
Italian Cheese Bread: Massive with good texture contrast, served with refreshing pesto and butter. The bread is massive, with cheese baked into the center. It has a good textural contrast between the crust and the center.
Jump Gulf Shrimp: Well-cooked shrimp with a tangy, sweet cocktail sauce featuring diced cucumber for added freshness. The shrimp were cooked well, and the cocktail sauce had a tangy, sweet flavor profile.
Wood-Roasted Medjool Dates: Sweet dates with smoky chorizo and undercooked bacon, resulting in a chewy texture. The dish features significantly sweet initial notes from the date that can overpower the other components. The bacon was undercooked in some areas, resulting in a chewy texture in some bites.
Spicy Lobster Bisque: Velvety with rich, salty seafood notes, butter, cream, and sweet sherry. The bisque had a velvety texture with small chunks of lobster throughout.
50/50 Pizza (BBQ Chicken and Chicken Basil Pesto): Crust had good crunch, but the pizza was topping-heavy and soggy in the middle. The crust had a good crunch at the back end with a nice char. There are some critiques of the pizza. First, the ratio of crust-to-topping is topping-heavy, causing the toppings to fall off each slice. Second, the pizza’s texture was soggy and wet in the middle, caused by the serving dish and the pocket of air that formed, allowing the juices to soak into the crust.
Scottish King Salmon: Beautifully cooked with fingerling potatoes, lump crab, and tangy béarnaise sauce. This is a well-composed, beautiful dish. The salmon is cooked to perfection with an excellent sear, as are the fingerling potatoes.
Creekstone Beef Tenderloin: Rare beef with roasted goat cheese that overpowered the delicate flavor. Bland vegetables and decent potatoes. The beef tenderloin was cooked to a beautiful rare and rested upon chunky grilled red onion. The roasted goat cheese is tangy and can overpower the delicate flavor of the beef.
Maple-Glazed Carrots and Pecans: Fork-tender carrots with a nutty, sweet flavor, though the syrup ratio drowned out the carrot taste. One critique is that a considerable amount of syrup formed at the bottom of the dish. When it congealed, the ratio of sauce-to-carrot drowned out the carrot flavor.
Mexican Sweet Corn: Al dente corn with smoky chipotle and cotija, though the chipotle flavor dominated. The corn was cooked al dente and had a crisp texture.
Overall:
Stonehorse Cafe remains true to its roots, prioritizing quantity over quality. While nothing was particularly bad, dishes like shrimp cocktail and bread were merely average. The extensive menu aims to please a broad audience but lacks mastery. Stonehorse is akin to an upscale Charleston’s or Chili’s, catering to those who prefer portion size over culinary finesse. It will likely remain a staple in Utica Square, appealing to the tastes of many Oklahomans.

Normally this place is great but got a salad with salmon and it was fishy and salty. This happens but what I was disappointed in is I shared with the waitress and she still chose to charge me. I asked for the manager and shared my disappointment but I made sure I paid and left a tip. I share this to make a point it’s not about the money people make mistakes. I just hope they get better because normally the food and service is amazing.

Came here for an afternoon tea with some friends visiting from out of state. The food was good, but paying $45/person for a 7 course meal sounds great, right? The portions were disappointing, to say the least. One savory treat/cookie/small baked good per person on each serving. For example, one course was a single cucumber sandwich slice that was 1/4th size of a regular sandwich. I thought that was a bit ridiculous. Every where else I have been for afternoon teas, and high teas, there is always a larger portion size for the entire group, and usually this gets taken home and ate for later or to relax and eat during the experience of the tea. I will say the actual tea selection was fantastic, and they all were great. It was a big disappointing to not get offered honey, sugar, creme, etc for the teas, even though I take my tea just plain. It would be a nice option. I will say the wild mushroom and rice soup (the vegetarian / vegan option) instead of the French onion soup was VERY good. Something else that took away from our experience was the manager, loudly moving tables and re arranging the furniture around us, in the front of the restaurant, while loudly and ordering his staff around and calling a staff meeting quite literally while we were sitting one table over from them. This is NOT the servers/hostesses fault, at all. This is completely the fault of the manager and management team. I could tell the servers and hostesses were mortified. They kept apologizing to our party over and over again and we assured them it was okay. I honestly felt bad for them, because it’s not like they could say anything to their management team about how ridiculously inappropriate and loud they were being. It really detracted from the experience overall, and I will not be back.

I enjoy this restaurant each time I go. It is more expensive than I’d like, but it’s in Utica Square and provides excellent service. I wish they were healthier but do provide some healthy options. Also, they had some vegan options, which was great as that’s a harder market for restaurants to cater to.
