Found this cool little bar when I rolled into town to see Crossroads. I ordered fried catfish with a double side of cheese & broccoli. It also came with a couple of little balls of hush puppies and an apple cobbler. I also got a big glass of sweet tea.
The catfish was very good, and the tartar sauce was also very good. The broccoli was cooked to the point of being almost mushy, which I really like. The hush puppies were kinda cold and hard. The least favorite thing on the plate.
The bar is really cool and is obviously in a very old building. They were playing the Ole Miss vs. MSU game on the t.v.s. They had a lot of customers coming in. Obviously doing the right thing here. The waitress was very good and nice.

Stone Pony Pizza is a rustic Southern treasure tucked right into the heart of Clarksdale. The moment I stepped inside, I felt wrapped in warmth and nostalgia, from the worn brick walls to the glitter of autographed sports memorabilia covering every inch, it’s the kind of place that feels both lively and lived-in.

I was greeted by Bailey, the hostess, whose bright smile and soft accent made the welcome feel personal, not practiced. She found me the perfect seat, one that gave me a view of the whole dining room and the steady stream of food coming from the kitchen. The air was filled with the mouthwatering scent of fresh bread, sizzling meat, and melted cheese. The kind of smell that makes your stomach growl even if you swore you weren’t that hungry.

My waitress, Marley, came by with cheerful energy and a genuine friendliness that immediately put me at ease. She answered all my questions like she’d known the menu her whole life and had that kind of confidence that only comes from loving where you work. When I asked her what they were best known for, she said, “Our pizzas and our burgers.” Normally, I’d go for pizza, but since I make a mean one myself, I decided to see if their burger could win me over.

I ordered the Downtown Burger, and when it arrived, the aroma alone told me I’d made the right choice. The burger was a huge 1/2 pound of juicy, seasoned Angus beef, with a soft, house-made bun and crisp toppings stacked high. The lettuce was cool and crunchy, the red onion thick and flavorful, and the tomato looked like it had just been picked from the garden. The first bite was pure bliss, juicy, herby, and perfectly seared with those little crispy edges that make a burger irresistible.

The fries were the perfect companion: golden, lightly salted, and clearly fresh from the fryer. They were hot enough that a little curl of steam rose when I picked one up. You can always tell when fries are made to order, and these were absolute perfection.

As I sat there enjoying every bite, I watched Marley glide around the room with effortless grace, greeting guests by name, refilling drinks, and making sure everyone was happy. She moved with a rhythm that made the whole place hum with warmth and energy. Bailey continued to greet new guests with that same bright smile, keeping everything flowing smoothly.

Everything about Stone Pony Pizza feels genuine, from the in-house breads and sauces to the friendly faces that make the experience shine. You can tell the owners care deeply about their staff, and that kindness trickles down to the guests in every interaction.

It’s rare to find a place that gets both food and hospitality so right, but Stone Pony does. Between the rustic charm, the flavorful food, and the caring service from Bailey and Marley, this spot easily earns a five-star review from me. I’ll absolutely be back and next time, that pizza everyone talks about is calling my name.

As a previous resident of Clarksdale, and a lover of Stone Pony…the weekend manager is terrible. Last night we drove in from AL and ordered a somewhat large order of $70+ to eat with friends while watching the Lone Star Showdown. Only part of our salad was eaten, with the remaining awaiting for lunch today. As we began to prepare the rest of the salad, a long piece of brown hair entangled in cheese and lettuce sat at the bottom…..yuck!

Yet because we have eaten here for 10+, we understand things happen. We called over, and they said no problem we’ll remake it for you, but let us talk to our manager and we’ll call you back. After 30 minutes, that did not happen so we walked over.

Granted half of the salad was eaten from the night before, which we were more than happy to pay for half of the regular price of the salad when upon the manager “inspecting” the salad said….”No one here has that type of hair.” Picture inserted below. If you walk in today, there is at least three people with dark brown hair who go back and forth between the kitchen with a few not even having their hair tied back.

The salad was remade (thank you), given without dressing , but it was such a gross interaction.

Thank you to the bartender with the glasses on and the waitress who continued to check in on us. One bad apple doesn’t ruin the bunch. Though the bartender denied a tip, we appreciate her and will be back.

To the manager in the grey shirt whose customer service is weird…is it worth losing long-supporting customers over a salad? Especially if before your comment which was completely untrue we were willing to partially pay for a remade salad since half was eaten? Please do better.

Great pizza and refreshing hospitality in the Hospitality State. Had the Buck Wild pizza, perfect fried pickle chips and a surprising take on a cheese and sausage plate.

We just missed the Dutch Oven so we came here. We ordered two personal pizzas and these over the top delicious turning green fried cheese balls. They were so good with their famous come back sauce. But unless you prefer a doughy pizza crust I would not recommend this place.

Was told by a friend from here to try it. I was passing through after lunch time. I got the pizza called Buck Wild, I was pleasantly surprised. The crust was very good, generally I always give my wife the outside edge but I even ate it. I will definitely be back.

Great place to grab a bite in Clarksdale.

Stopped by while on a work trip. Great location right downtown on the Main Street surrounded by beautiful murals and quaint little shops and boutiques.

I had the blackened chicken sandwich, and let me tell you, it was juiiiicyyy! Great help from the waitress as she helped me decide what to get. Food was affordable and the lemonade kept flowing!

Highly recommend this place if you are visiting Clarksdale!

Excellent food, cool location. We walked in as trivia night was ending and everyone from the staff to the patrons were extremely polite. Pizza was great, we ate it cold for breakfast and agreed it was damn good.

We ordered the lunch specials. Mine was ham with 3 sides. My husband’s was fried chicken. My ham was old, overcooked, or warmed up. The cornbread was tiny and the next thing to burnt. The cream corn and stewed tomatoes and okra were good. I didn’t like the dressing. My husband’s chicken wasn’t much better. The only good thing was a very polite young man as our waiter.
