Reviews
I’m originally from Pennsylvania, right outside of New York City and Philly, and I’ve been searching for pizza in Florida that tastes like back home. This place nailed it. The crust, the sauce, the cheese, everything reminds me of the classic pies I grew up with. Authentic flavor, great service, and an atmosphere that feels welcoming. Hands down the best slice I’ve had since moving here!
Food:
We ordered two personal pizzas one chicken Alfredo and one sausage, ham, and pineapple (yeah I know it’s weird) and they were both delicious! The Alfredo had the prefect balance of sauce/cheese/chicken ratio. The sauce was the prefect blend of creamy garlic yumminess without being overpoweringly heavy. The other pizza was so so yummy! Especially with crushed red peppers. The sausage is truly the star of those three toppings but the combination was just so good. The crust is airy but crisp with the perfect balance of both. We also ordered the mozzarella sticks and my daughter has deemed them the best in Orlando. Additionally, the prices were so reasonable! I can’t think of another pizza place that has these prices but food that is clearly top tier.
Service:
We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful woman who also doubled as the order taker and server. She was kind and very helpful. The food was so quick! Seriously we received everything within 10 minutes of ordering and they had a steady flow of business. Another employee, a man with black curly hair, picked up our empty plates and he also was super friendly and welcoming!
Atmosphere:
It’s clear the owner and his employees take pride in their business. The restaurant was extremely clean, especially the restrooms and fountain soda areas which often are the most messiest areas of restaurants. Additionally, they have a lovely patio with misters so you can keep cool in the Florida heat.
Seriously worth checking out!
We came in around 7pm on a Saturday after a small get together looking forward to good pizza. We were received by a young lady, and ordered x2 pizzas. While the majority of our party was sober (including the DD) some of the party had alcoholic beverages they brought on premises. After they were informed that was not acceptable, the relevant person stood up to remove their alcohol from the property. While doing so a 2nd member of staff came out to adress us with a very condescending attitude that made us feel very unwelcome and unwanted. The summary of the conversation was: they cannot serve us, and the pizza orders were never placed. I’m not one to assume, but that pretty much means “leave” in my book…
After speaking with Management to attempt and resolve the situation or at the very least notify them of the employees behavior, they reviewed the video footage to confirm what I had said… I was initially met with a dismissive response saying we were the problem and the employee had not given any condescending response. Only to change the statement further into the conversation saying the employee did in fact have an attitude towards us and the situation could have been handled better.
After reading some of the other reviews, it seems customer service is not really a priority for this place. They just want the profit and not the local support or to support their locals. What a shame…
Best wishes to these folk, but your money is better spent elsewhere.
Ex. Mister 01 on Sandlake has way better food, and the dough is much healthier with excellent customer service.
Very much worth the drive.
