Starting with the atmosphere: It’s difficult to pinpoint exactly, but on our indoor visits, the dining room has a dated, older vibe. Perhaps it’s the open layout combined with the carpeted floors—something about it just feels “old.” That said, we haven’t tried it yet, but the outdoor seating area looks inviting and pleasant.
Moving on to the food—I’ll start with the positives. The chicken wings are above average: very meaty and flavorful. We ordered them with buffalo sauce, which was lightly coated (just how we like it, rather than drowned). One small downside—they didn’t come with celery and carrots or a choice of blue cheese or ranch dressing, which was a minor detail but noticeable.
The burger is pretty decent too—I’d call it solidly average, nothing exceptional but nothing disappointing either.
I wouldn’t recommend the flatbread pizzas, however. I tried the pepperoni one, and it reminded me exactly of the quick-service pizza you get at a theme park: basic dough, a heavy glob of cheese, and what tasted like jarred sauce. It wasn’t memorable at all.
We also ordered the Cobb salad and were underwhelmed, mainly by the cold grilled chicken breast. Ours appeared somewhat raw in spots, so we sent it back and decided against replacing it with another dish.
On a positive note, the wait staff has been attentive and pleasant each time we’ve visited.
My biggest takeaway from our experiences at Stone Creek Grille is that I expected more overall. Given that it’s situated on a beautifully maintained golf course and located just outside the gates of one of Ocala’s premier 55+ gated communities, I’d hoped the dining experience would match the “wow” factor of the living and golf amenities.
It’s convenient if you’re wrapping up 18 holes of golf or live in the community and don’t feel like driving elsewhere. That said, I wouldn’t go out of my way to dine here.
We stopped in again to have lunch at Stone Creek Golf Club and Grille. Nothing has changed from the last time we visited. We had another great lunch. The wife had French Dip again. This time I went with pepperoni flat bread. Both were excellent as was the experience. I still rate them at five stars. This time I included some photo’s.

We had a very enjoyable lunch when stopping by Stone Creek. A nice setting on a beautiful property. The food was excellent as was our waitress. Smaller than other establishments. But that plays to the nice atmosphere. The French dip was worth the trip alone. Add it all up and it’s my kind of place.
