Cute small bread place with great bread. Sourdough and some awesome flavors in their Balons. Also a book store.

A limited selection of bread. But the choices were wonderful. I got a nice dense cornmeal loaf and a rosemary focaccia.
A good selection of books to browse through.

Best bagels in the state! And the bread is always spectacular as well! I always enjoy perusing the books and supporting their community action initiatives and mutual aid organizing. I stop by whenever I go through Gardiner.

We stopped in after seeing the store front when driving on a road trip through Maine. We spoke with the baker who was so lovely and thoughtful in explaining their favorites. When we bit into the cinnamon raisin and the cafe roll, HOLY COW! They are fantastic on their own, can’t wait to be back to try them with their infamous butter. Such a delightful stop and treat for the car ride. Incredible texture and sourdough. The book selection is equally thoughtful and much different which is refreshing!

This place is so good. The coffee is really good and the bread and butter they have is even better idk how. The people who run the shop are super nice and I don’t read but the books seem nice and look cool. The bread and butter here makes me want to make more Google accounts to comment 5 stars because they deserve only the best here such a good place would recommend.

A welcome addition to Central Maine. Took a sourdough class that was informative and fun! The book selection is great – they stock a lot of stuff you wouldn’t find anywhere else. And the bread? AMAZING.

Best bread around! It’s made with clean wheat which is even better! Very kind and caring people run this place, with an emphasis on welcoming everyone in the community to their space. They also have such a wonderful curated selection of books. Definitely worth stopping in for a loaf and some reads!

This is such a pleasant spot and a hidden gem in central Maine! I’ve been to this place a few times just for fun and have bought some great books. Today was my first bread purchase and it was such a treat!! Some of the best bread I’ve found since moving to Maine. If you get a chance I would recommend a chat with the staff. Very nice people. Will be sure to come by again for more!
