I visited this spot because I’m a big fan of *Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives* with Guy Fieri, and I was excited to try it out. The restaurant has a cool, laid-back vibe with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor area is dog-friendly, which is a nice bonus.
We started with the honey hot baked wings. They had a great flavor and were fall-off-the-bone tender. That said, I wouldn’t call them “jumbo” as described on the menu—they seemed more average in size.
I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, which was a bit disappointing. It resembled more of a chicken patty topped with sauce and cheese, rather than a traditional cutlet that fills the plate. The sauce was runny and on the sweeter side—not really my thing, though that’s on me for not reading the menu more closely. The entrée only comes with *either* linguine marinara *or* a vegetable side, not both, which feels a bit stingy for the price.
My girlfriend ordered the Eggplant Rigatoni, which was advertised as spicy but really wasn’t. The portion size was also smaller than expected. I guess we went in with high hopes—I was expecting more of a “Nonna’s kitchen in South Philly” kind of experience.
Overall, the ambiance was nice, but the food didn’t quite live up to the hype.
They are a local bar spot & it was rowdy & fun for the Eagles game! I don’t remember our servers name (black hair & super friendly in the little room off to the side) but she was great. We got the fries with pulled pork as an appetizer – so good! We also had the meatball sandwich, the chicken parm sandwich, the stogie joes stromboli, & the pasta with crab gravy. Everything was fabulous with the crunch of the stromboli dough really being the hit of the day.
Great food, great atmosphere, & a really nice staff – we couldn’t have had a better time!
It’s a cozy spot with indoor and outdoor seating. The food is fantastic and the service is superb! Did I mention they have live music while you are enjoying your food and drinks!
The pizza is square, and the sauce is on top… but it is one of the best pies I have tried. The gnocchi was out of this world. It was soft and packed with flavor from the sauce!!
Make sure you stop by for some of the best italian food in the city! Oh, and bring cash! They are cash only, but have atm on site.
Enjoy!!
I did not like having to pay for a refill of my Diet Coke, especially when they did not say anything. As someone who loves their soda, the food was good but not so amazing I can’t pass on the place the next time i go out, and go somewhere else with a refill.
