Arrived at 3:30 in a party of 4. Not too busy with plenty of seating. Servers name was Kaleigh.Sodas and sweet tea to drink. I ordered the brisket/mac and cheese. The others ordered steaks and bacon wrapped meatloaf. Salads on the side. I didn’t have one but the others said they were very good. Nice atmosphere with not too loud music. Place was spacious and nicely decorated.

We had reservations at 6, I understand you are at the mercy of the previous table, but we weren’t seated until 640. The waitress didn’t even greet us or ask or drink orders until after 7. My husband and I ordered our steaks the same way, they were both completely different one was way under cooked. My husbands chips were burnt, my brother in laws chicken sandwich was overcooked and undercooked at the same time e? That takes skill to do at least. Our armadillo eggs were supposed to have chorizo, they didn’t. When we told the server she said no it was in between the bacon and the jalepeno. It wasn’t. The eggs had zero spice or flavor for that matter. The steaks had no flavor at all. I’d rather have ate a steak off the freeway, at least it would have had flavor. The best thing I got there tonight was the Michelob ultra. The service was slow, food was bland, my husband ordered the same drink and it came out not only in two different cups but was two different drinks.. overall terrible experience I would not recommend to anyone.

The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food came out promptly and was delicious! I highly recommend the barbacoa egg rolls.
It was our first time there, and we will be returning.

Great atmosphere but horrible food. I really wanted to love this restaurant. I love to see new places to eat come to downtown Newark. The food is so bad though. To start we got the fried pearl onions and the chips. The chips were ok but the dip they came with was more like a cheese ball and not a chip friendly dip. The pearl onions were oddly large more like the size of a shallot. They were crispy on the outside but raw onion on the inside. One of them actually still had the skin on it which was not pleasant to bite into. For our mains we got the smoked wings and the snapper. The wings were dry but edible. The snapper was so dry it was like eating fish jerky. Maybe they were having an off night but I don’t think I will be back to find out.

Food was ok. 3 people ordered the same steak 2 out of the 3 were the same size. The 3rd was much smaller. Very bland. The cook of the steak was good. The server was ok she was not very approachable. The atmosphere was up tight for a steakhouse.

We had a great time at the Stockyard Grill. Our food was fantastic, even though I know their staff is new. Sometimes it takes a little while to get it all worked out with your cooks and servers.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time, our waitress was amazing and took great care of us.
Steaks were cooked perfectly and we were even able to heat up our leftovers in the air fryer and it was still good and moist.
Definitely give it a try and support our new local startups.

We had a fabulous dinner there tonight! My Wife had the ribeye and I had the red snapper and grits. Both were phenomenal! Matt was our server and he was absolutely awesome! It was a perfect dinner! The atmosphere is amazing. They have done an amazing job with every aspect of the restaurant. The steak was cooked perfect, tender, and tasted great according to my Wife. The red snapper and grits was better than any I have had at The Back Porch or any other coastal location! The Chef is to be complimented for great work. We had a nice conversation with the owner. We will be back soon!

The kitchen needs some work. Just ask yourself this question; Should I take pearl onions and deep fry them without battering and serve them? That answer should be no. Soggy, greasy un seasoned atrocity! Nerk chicken sandwich SALTY and absolutely drenched in sauce served room temp. Wings were great! Crispy juicy and flavorful. Burger was mid. Service was 4/5 atmosphere 3.5/5 just cowboy red blooded American vibes. Only have a photo of the onions due to it being one of the worst appetizers I’ve ever eaten.
