We have given this place a try several times. Sometimes the food was edible. I ordered coney fries and got a scoop of clearish tomato based soup with bean slopped on top of the fries which were under cooked. It was a soggy inedible mess. The breakfast wasn’t great and we usually love breakfast. Lastly, after giving it 4-5 tries, the service was terrible every time. She was rude at every visit. Everyone has a bad day but lady, please quit and try something different than customer service. She gave me the bill and I gave her my card. She said you need to leave a cash tip. What? Wow…I usually tip upwards of 25 to 30% but this time I only had 2 one dollar bills and so that is what she got and we will never go back. So much for trying to support small business.

My husband and I travel through Stockbridge often, cutting through to avoid 94. We happened to stumble across this little diner 2-3 weeks ago and went in.
We like to see our food being cooked, so we sat up at the counter.
The owner was super friendly to us, very easy to talk to. We noticed he did all the cooking and rocked it out efficiently!
Last week, we came through again, and he made me the best BLT I have ever had.
We can tell this man truly loves cooking for people.
I read through the reviews tonight, prior to posting my review.. because We stopped in again today. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay to place our order.. no fault of his.
But reading the bad review on this man’s character, I feel is an over exaggerated review.
We have been here three times, and he’s not once been rude or disrespectful to us, or anyone at any time during our time in his diner.

We LOVE this Diner! We have NEVER gotten a meal that we didnt love! The Ambiance of the Diner is awesome. Their breakfast are delicious! Why anyone wouldn’t give them a 5 Star review is beyond me. Moving out to the country 4 years ago from the City and stumbling upon the Diner was a win win! Dick & Robin love you guys!

Woman on phone was incredibly rude, like my patronage was annoying her. I just called to place a to go order and she was rude and huffing into the phone snapping “ok anything else?”. I ordered 1 breakfast and a side of extra crispy hash browns. This is my 2nd attempt at trying them for breakfast. Last time i tried the biscuits and gravy and found it inedible, didnt complain, said ill try again… This time i was served hardly cooked potato slivers…. especially after asking for them to be crispy, they were hardly cooked, basically boiled potato shreds? Also, the owner of the resturant comments back to other revieweres, shows how nasty and mean their service is….. I tried to support you, but you seem to not want customers? I had to take my “food” home and finish cooking it… really sad.

I am a stocobridge local & i love supporting the local business here as a business owner myself. I took my 4 year old son here for brunch and the waitress was wonderful & patient while he ordered his food and drink. He got the 3 cheeseburger sliders with homemade chips (which were awesome, so I stole a few). I ordered the farmers’ skillet, and that was cooked perfectly and tasted even better. The portions were large. My son finished his sliders and was full. We got a box for the rest. 10/10.

I am always pleased with my food and service. It is a small local diner. They serve hot and made to order food. The staff works VERY hard. I have been there several times and observed them running themselves ragged and yet still received a great meal. It’s always my goal to make the waitress smile somehow, I know she is tired sometimes. I love going to this place!

We have driven past HSS many times and finally stopped by. It’s an excellent little hometown diner. Staff were friendly, diner was exceptionally clean. I had ham and cheese omelette…..great size portions.
I would highly suggest stopping by to give it a try.
