First time visiting the sign on the entrance read “After 8pm…Only 21 and older”, we arrived at 7:55pm, right before 8 o’clock and I asked if it was okay since we had our 15-year-old son with us, and the young lady said it was okay as long as we didn’t cause any trouble. We sat down order, waited and got up and out. The food was good, and the service was great. I probably wouldn’t go back only because the vibe was an old group vibe and reeked of cigarettes, and I hate the smell of cigarettes and smoke.

STL ThrowDowns knows how to throw a fun night! Bingo night was an absolute blast — the whole place was locked in, cheering, laughing, and actually trying to win prizes. The energy was so good and made it way more fun than your average bar night.

Let’s start with the catfish nuggets because WOW. They were beyond amazing—easily the best catfish I’ve ever had. Perfectly seasoned, fried to absolute perfection, and paired with a Cajun dipping sauce that didn’t just complement the nuggets… it elevated them. I genuinely couldn’t get enough. The portion size was generous enough to share as an appetizer, but also more than enough to enjoy as a full meal on its own.
Now for the live band experience—the place was PACKED, and for good reason. A younger band was playing, and they were incredible. Even though STL ThrowDowns is typically 21+ after 8 PM, they allowed a younger crowd in that night so everyone could experience this band, which I thought was awesome. The music variety appealed to all ages—I brought my 16-year-old son, and I felt completely comfortable having him there among the 21+ crowd. The vibe was upbeat, welcoming, and just all-around good energy.
One of my favorite things? It wasn’t a smoky bar. I’ve been to plenty of bars around town where smoking is still allowed, and you leave smelling like an ashtray. Not here. It was so refreshing to enjoy a great night out and go home not smelling like smoke.
