Hoping the poor food rating is because they are still getting used to starting out and getting things together since they were only on their 6th day. The ribs were warm and so chewy I could only eat one. The corn cob was watery and had no flavor. Chicken tenders same warm and chewy. Cornbread was dry and could have done with butter to at least make it edible. The green beans had some flavor but we’re almost cold. The best part of the meal happened to be the fried chicken, it was seasoned well and served hot. The servings are fair but be prepared to pay. We got two meals, two appetizers four drinks for $80. Ordering the food was a bit chaotic as well. Definitely not worth the terrible food. Hoping things get better as they learn and improve.

I had a really pleasant time. The food was very good and it was fresh. There was a little bit of a wait time, but it was definitely worth it. Everyone was so nice and the customer service was on point. The Black Eyed Peas are really good.

It was opening day so they were very busy! Waited over an hour for food. The staff were extremely nice and the food was excellent once we received it. Nice that there is a good southern soul food restaurant in town.

This is my official review of Stix and Soul Colorado Springs. I was present on opening day. My husband takes the dog for a walk around the mall because we live really close by. Since he knows I’m quite the foodie, he mentioned that this place was opening at the old hooters at the citadel. I never went here when it was hooters so I didn’t know what to expect. It was much smaller than I ever remember a hooters was. They have about 4 pool tables. Not the legal sized ones. But like the quarter ones. I didn’t get to play, because I had the little who was already complaining that she was hungry. Upon entry, aside from it being quite crowded which I already knew it would be since it’s also conveniently located next to Zeal Church, it’s small but intimate in the sense that people are friendly. It’s dimly lit. But not dim as in you’re going to fall asleep. But maybe more to keep things calm in a hectic environment. I mean they were BIZZ-ZZEE. As in the kitchen staff seemed a lil overwhelmed at how fast they needed to get the food out. But I’ve worked in the food industry long enough to know how this stuff works. Especially on opening day. We were patient. It took me about an hour to even order my food because we got there around 1:30-1:45. Then another hour and a half ish to receive our food. I loved their vibe. Celebrating their wins in the back when they could to keep staff morale up in the craziness. I am definitely coming back for the catfish and chicken and waffles that I wasn’t able to get this time around. Chicken and waffles were sold out by the time I got to the counter to order. The little was a huge fan of the beans, green beans, collard greens and her Mac n cheese side. They were sold out of the Mac n cheese balls when we got to the counter to order too. She was a fan of the peach cobbler. I was a fan of the banana pudding. However, I wish the amount was consistent. I feel like I got shorted on one. Overall, I’d say it was a pretty successful visit especially for her first time having soul food. They even celebrated a birthday there. That was definitely fun to witness. I’ll definitely be back! I love that they are in walking distance! Fantastic job guys! Keep up the great job!!
