Parked for the night. Lumber City does not have a large food selection so I went with the local joint. Very pleased that I did. Ordered a rib plate with the season fries and a peach tart for dessert. The place is clean and inviting. Food came out in an appropriate amt. of time. It was hot and plentiful. Ribs were juicy with a great favor. Meat fell from the bone for the most part. The rest was barely touched before separating. The fries were a little lacking on the seasoning but they were cooked to perfection. The peach tart was genuinely home made. The crust was light and flaky. It was filled with hot filling that wasn’t over sweetened. Splendid compliment to my meal. So when you’re down this way, get off the interstate and stop in. You won’t be disappointed.

Been coming here all my life. I am now 47 years old and the food is as good if not better than I remember from my childhood. The Stinson family are very special and dear to me and if you choose to stop and eat with them you will be treated like family. Everything they have is good and it’s also very reasonable priced. You will be made to feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door and you will feel like you have gone back to a much simpler and bygoneEra. Stop in at Stinsons BBQ and try it out for yourself, I guarantee you will enjoy and and you will be back.

Food is so nasty. The sauce is toxic. I tried a brisket with and without sauce. It was super tough. How is brisket tough? Ask these people. Go to Subway, lol

First let me tell you about my first ever experience with Stinson’s. I’m an LTL truck driver running this route for another driver about 3 years ago and I broke down about 8 miles north of town. It was going to take the mechanic 4 hours before he could get to me so I was stuck on the side of the road with nothing to eat or drink. I got pretty hungry and started Google near by restaurants that might deliver with no real luck. I called Stinson’s and explained my dilemma and asked if they could please bring me some food and sweet tea. They were so kind and the owner himself showed up about 20 minutes later with a delicious BBQ sandwich, fried, and large sweet tea. He wouldn’t even let me pay for it. That’s southern hospitality that I love. So know every time I run this route I always stop and order food from these wonderful folks. So today I got the rib plate for the first time.. Oh my goodness… best I ever had. It has the mustard sauce I love and never had them on ribs before. I loved it… the seasoned fries and coleslaw were awesome as well. So please go in and order this delicious food and experience southern hospitality at its finest.

Barbecue and Brunswick stew were awful. Not like any barbecue I’ve ever seen. Good French fries.

We were just passing thru when we stopped. It was a toss up between here and a bbq joint in hazelhurst. Small town vibes but not exactly southern hospitality. I was anxious about the food being good but let me tell you this.. BEST BBQ IN MY LIFE. Chose to-go but never made it out the parking lot lol I got a large bbq sandwich with onion rings, my husband got the stuffed bbq potato with coleslaw. Highly recommend.

Love going the “back way” from Macon to the coast. We try to stop here for lunch/supper. Family owned. BBQ is chopped with a slightly sweet vinegar style sauce. Got the sandwich, some potato salad and a peach fried pie. All 3 were . Very friendly atmosphere. They have a “drive through” type window for call aheads I’m guessing.
