The Lodge at Pebble Beach
Visited after their November 2025 reopening following a remodel. What should have been a flagship dining experience was a complete failure.
Food: We ordered the wild cod and American Wagyu zabuton steak.
• The cod was inedible—undercooked, mushy, and emitted an overwhelmingly fishy odor that strongly suggested improper handling. To make matters worse, the kitchen failed to include the sauce; we had to ask for it.
• The zabuton steak, ordered medium rare, arrived blue rare and nearly raw. This is not a difference of opinion—it was a basic execution failure.
• We calmly raised these issues with management. No corrective action was taken. No replacement, no apology of substance. (Photos attached.)
Service: Service was equally unacceptable.
• Our server was disengaged and unable to provide even basic menu guidance, raising serious concerns about staff training.
• We had to repeatedly prompt for essentials—water refills, status updates, and follow-ups.
• Timeline matters: seated at 6:10 PM, ordered at 6:20 PM, food arrived at 6:50 PM. A 30-minute wait for poorly executed food is indefensible at a property of this caliber.
Atmosphere: The remodel does little to save the experience. The bar is visually pleasant; everything else is forgettable. 5.5/10.
Final Verdict: Would I return? Absolutely not.
Pebble Beach trades on a reputation of excellence. This restaurant is currently riding that name without delivering anything close to it. Until the kitchen leadership and service standards are seriously corrected, this is not worth your time or money.

Amazing dining experience and menu! The service you experience here is fantastic. Not only is the hospitality top notch, you can tell they put a lot of thought and time into developing their menu. I ordered the seafood pasta and haven’t stopped thinking about it since! I don’t rate pastas 10/10 very often, but this one was the best I’ve ever had so far. They also have an amazing selection of craft cocktails that are unique and make you want to order a second round. Can’t wait to go back!

We dined there after I heard about the renovation. We thoroughly enjoyed the new look. It felt modern yet classic. I loved all the new vegetarian options. I had the pasta dish which was fantastic. The service was great and the staff really friendly. I was worried it might be too formal but it was perfect. I would definitely try it if you haven’t been.

We had a dinner there 2 days ago. Like others we wanted to try it after staying away for 12+years due to terrible food poisoning we had then from the food we ate there within seconds of walking out of the restaurant!!
We had a cocktail that looked GREAT and tested even better. We had Cesar with chicken. Presentation was great and again tested even better. We had bean soup that was again unique and tested very very good. We ordered this special Wagu steak!! Presentation and the taste were great BUT we could NOT chew!! It was so tough and chewy that I actually had to spit it out!! I never had such tough and bad steak. We told this to waiter and the hostess!! They said they will tell to chef!! They did not even offer to replace it!!

Had a wonderful overall experience at Stillwater Bar & Grill. The restaurant overlooks the 18th hole at Pebble Beach as well as the Pacific Ocean. The views are spectacular from out on the deck! Our food was great and the service was excellent. Definitely a must visit restaurant in the area! This establishment is located within the Lodge at Pebble Beach.

Stillwater at the Pebble beach Lodge is an icon. Overlooking the 18 hole of the world famous golf course, the scenery cannot be beat.
Offering both indoor and patio dining, it’s the perfect place to soak up the ambiance. The food is well portioned and typically good quality. They have great cocktails too.

The grill has breathtaking views of the famous last holes of the Pebble Beach golf course. And nice/ upscale interior design. The menu items are all delicious and of good portion sizes. I had a great time golfing and grabbing lunch here!

If you’re visiting the Carmel area, you absolutely have to check out Stillwater at Pebble Beach! The views alone are worth the visit—gorgeous sights over the golf course and the ocean that are just unbeatable. We had a fantastic experience, and the service was spectacular. Our server, Jeffrey, took great care of us, making sure everything was perfect.
As for the food, it was absolutely delicious! I had the seafood Bolognese, and it was hearty and packed with flavor—a total winner. The whole experience felt really special, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re in the area, definitely make a stop at Stillwater. You won’t regret it!

Accommodated my husband and I on a busy Saturday evening for dinner and seated us with a great view!! We had 3 servers who were all lovely and attentive. The lobster was SO FRESH and the veggies were nice and light. They also had house made YUZU sorbet Overall a lovely environment, nice and quiet, high ceilings.
